If you find yourself with a certain type of controller, be it third-party, novelty, peripheral, etc., what would it be a bit of fun to use it for?

I'm not just talking about things with direct compatibility in mind. Are there things that just use the control stick/face buttons that benefit from the Fishing Rod? Are there things that just use the D-pad/A/B buttons that benefit from the StarFire LightBlaster? And what about a six-button controller, are there any games other than the obvious Capcom fighters that benefit from those? And what about those elusive maracas, can they be used on anything they weren't intended for at all? Etc.
