I've had my Dreamcast like 6+ months and it's been great. Have around 15 games now and they all play perfectly. However awhile ago I bought shenmue, SA and Soul Calibur in a bundle. They worked great except shenmue, which wouldn't load past the opening cinematic. I called the guy and he said and he didn't have a console to test the games, apologized and exchanged the game.

Now just this week a ordered a mint copy of Shenmue, popped it in and had all sorts of loading issues. The game would hang at loading screens forever, music still playing. Then when I restarted the console and hit play it would take me to the sega logo then back to the bios. The disc seriously looks flawless, like brand new.

I had a second Dreamcast so I decided to hook it up and see if it would play, and it did. For a little. Quickly I started running into the same issues as before.

Then I decided to take my main DC apart and calibrate the laser by turning that little red screw as that seemed to be the popular thing to do. It then worked great, breezing through every loading screen and I played for about 4 hours last night before turning it off.

Today I boot up some soul calibur and play for about an hour before popping shenmue. Now shenmue won't start again. I've been tweaking the laser back and forth all day, sometimes it starts but usually it won't. All other games are perfect.

Any ideas why my DC won't play this one game? Seems unlikely to get a bad copy twice, especially when this looks like the cleanest disc in my collection
