As much as I like the Dreamcast controller, and I really do, I have never been very fond of the thumbstick and thought it needed some improving. So I found a couple of PS4 Thumbsticks on Amazon and thought maybe I can shoehorn them into the controller somehow. To my surprise these were literally a drop-in replacement for the existing thumbstick, no shoehorning necessary! Here are a couple of pics on how it turned out:



Only real issue that I have found so far is the shield at the bottom isn't as large as the DC's so when pressed all the way to the edge you can see a very small gap.
