    Pokeball Pokemon Gold/Silver

    • Aeorodactyl

There's only one Aeorodactyl in Pokemon Gold. But, it isn't that hard to get. All you have to do is catch a Chansey and trade it to the girl on Route 14.
    • Alternate Pokemon Colors

Did you know that there are Pokemon hidden in Gold/Silver that have alternate colors, aka shiny status? There is no easy way to find them (except for the Red Gyarados in the Lake of Rage) as they appear at random -- but they're out there. If you see specially colored Pokemon, be sure to catch them as they are very rare. You can recognize them by the sparkle effect when they appear in battle, or by checking on the Pokemon Status Screen. Next to the Male/Female symbol, these special Pokemon are marked with three dots.
    • Annon Pokedex

First, solve the Kabuto puzzle, which you should know how to get to. The rest will require the HM for Surf, found in Enjyu City, TM 08 (Rock Breaker), and the HM for Strength. Surf down by the Ancient Ruins (below Kickyou City) and solve the puzzle there. The puzzles should be somewhat easy. Just put in the corner pieces first. Then, go to the Connection Cave. Walk around and find the Pokemaniac. If you have not defeated him, fight him. Then, Surf in the waters near him. You will have to return here twice. Break the rock you find, and solve the puzzle. Then return, move the boulder, and solve the last puzzle. Catch the different Annon, then exit the ruins. Talk to the scientist near the cave and he will give you a complimentary Annon Pokedex.
    • Anno'un Music

While in the Alpha Ruins southeast of Kikyou city go to the Pokegear option in the menu screen. Go to the radio option and on the fourteenth to the twentieth channel you can find a station Called ??????. That is the Ann'oun Music. It can only be heard at Alpha Ruins.
    • Breeding evolutions

Breed two Pikachus to get Pichu.
Breed two Electabuzzes and you get Eleckid.
Breed two Clefairies and you get Pi.
Breed two Jigglypuffs and you get Pipurin.
Breed two Magmars and you get Magar.
    • Breeding Evolutions

At the Daycare Center south of Goldenrod City on Route 33, you can give a male Pokemon and a female Pokemon to the keepers to breed new Pokemon.

Breed two Pikachus to get Pichu.
Breed two Electabuzzes and you get Elekid.
Breed two Clefairies and you get Cleffa.
Breed two Jigglypuffs and you get Igglybuff.
Breed two Magmars and you get Magby.
Breed a Venonat with a Pinsir to get Pinsir.
Breed a Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee with a Ditto to get Tyrogue.
Breed a Clefairy with a Snubbull to get another Snubbul.
Breed a Gyarados with the Red Gyarados to get a golden Magikarp.

Replace any of the Pokemon with the genderless Ditto if you've only got one of a kind. Ditto will act as a wildcard Pokemon.
    • Buruki

Go to the city with the fourth gym. Then, go inside the second cave, turn to the right and Surf. Go to the top and enter the other cave that is there. Make your way around the mazes and talk to the karate character that is there. Defeat him and to will get Buruki. Note: Make sure you have an open space in your Pokemon holder.
    • Celebi

Celibi is the time travel pokemon. It is better than Mew by far! You can get it at Mall tours or through GameShark.

    Default Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver

    • Denryuu

If you want a Pokemon rumored to be a pre-evolution of Dratini (Denryuu), do not try to de-evolve Dratini. Instead, go to the route after Kickyou City towards the Connection Cave, and try to capture the electric sheep, Meripu. Let it grow to level 15. It will evolve into a pink sheep. Train it to level 30 to get Denryuu.
    • Double Team

Make sure you know the copy trick. Copy your strongest pokémon in more numbers, if few pokemon get faint, hold the pokemon that goes op a level or experience, to easily defeat each gym trainer, next delete your copies and continue your journey until you face another gym, retry the method again. You can also use the trick fighting your rival, or other type of trainers.
    • Duplicate Items/Clone Pokemon

Note: Use this code at your own risk. It may corrupt your save data if done incorrectly.

Go to a PC, and save. Attach the item you want to duplicate to the Pokemon you want to clone. Deposit it into the PC. Change boxes. When the screen is saying "Saving the game..." Turn off your GB. Turn it back on. You should have the deposited Pokemon in the PC, and a clone of it in your lineup. The item will either be on both monsters, or in your Backpack. Note: while doing this code, DO NOT withdraw any Pokemon. When the GB is turned back on, you'll find that the withdrawn Pokemon has been deleted. Note: You can duplicate up to 5 items/Pokemon at a time.
    • Enjyu City battle (Gold version)

When you go to Enjyu City, go to the tower and your rival will appear, but will not battle. However, if you first heal your Pokemon at the Pokecenter, defeat the Ghost Gym Leader, and then go to that tower, your rival will talk to you and fight.
    • Evolve Onix

To evolve Onix, you need to give it the Silver Coat. I do not know where to find this item, but you need it. The evolved Onix rocks!
    • Female Mr. Mime (Gold version)

Go to Saffron City before fighting Sabrina. Challenge Sabrina to discover that her Mr. Mime is female.
    • Flootenkerp

To catch a really rare glitch pokemon that doesn't screw up your game, fly to New Bark Town and go to where your rival stood at the beginning of the game. Press a three times there. Then go to the first patch of grass. Search for about 30 minutes without stopping. Eventually, a pokemon that looks like a mixture of a Mewtwo and a Pikachu will appear. It will be at level 35. You can only catch it with a pokeball and if you use one attack on it it will automatically faint. So throw the pokeball right when you find it. If it doesn't catch it, keep trying. It eventually will.

After beating the game, while the credits are being displayed you can hold the B button to make them go faster.
    • S.S. ANNE ticket

You have to beat the Pokemon League and go to the Prof. to get it. Go to the city with the 6th gym. You will need to go in a underground tunnel to reach the S.S. Anne. The person will check for your ticket and you are off. When you are inside, the sailor will block you from going out. You have to do something and talk to him after. When you are out, you will be in Vermillion City. Get the other 8 badges in the other cities. Tip: Vermillion City gym is even harder than the 8th gym in the other map. Train your Pokemon good.
    • Set Your Clock For Daylight-Savings

Return to your house and talk to your mother. She will ask you if you want to set your clock to Daylight-Savings time.
    • Silver Ryhorn

Go to the cave where you go to get to the Elite Five. You should encounter a silver Ryhorn.
    • Solving the Unown Mystery

The ruins of Alph are home to the mysterious Unown (#201), the only Pokemon that exists in more than one shape. Solving the different sliding-tile puzzles will drop you into the ruins below, where you can capture the mysterious Pokemon. In the beginning, you can only access one puzzle (the solution is Kabutop). You can get to the rest of the ruins once you have Surf and Strength. Surf lets you swim to the south cave which contains a puzzle of Aerodactyl. The other two puzzles are reached through the Union Cave using Surf and Strength. The puzzle to the southwest is an Omanyte, while the one to the west is a picture of Ho-oh.

The more puzzles you solve, the more varieties of Unown will be available to be caught. (There are 26 variations in all, one for each letter of the English alphabet. Ruins of ALPH, get it?). Once you have caught at least three different shapes of Unown, go to the Alph Lab just outside the first entrance. You will receive an upgrade to your Pokedex that lets you view and collect the different shapes of Unown.

After you have caught all 26 shapes of Unown, you should return to the lab. Using the machine in the corner, you will now be able to use the Unown shapes to create and print out banners using the "Unown font" (if you have a GB Printer).
    • Special Poke Balls

You can give Apricorns to the Poke Ball maker in Azalea Town to get new types of Poke Balls. Here is a list of what they're good for.

White Apricorn: Fast Ball -- Good for catching Pokemon that try to escape from battle quickly.
Red Apricorn: Level Ball -- If your Pokemon's level is significantly higher than the wild Pokemon's, it will be an easy catch.
Blue Apricorn: Lure Ball -- Good for catching Water types when fishing.
Pink Apricorn: Love Ball -- If the wild Pokemon's gender is opposite that of your Pokemon's you'll have an easier catch.
Black Apricorn: Heavy Ball -- Big enough to catch heavy Pokemon like Snorlax.
Green Apricorn: Friend Ball -- Pokemon caught with Friend Balls will become very attached to their trainer. Good for Chansey (if you want it to evolve into Blissey).
Yellow Apricorn:Moon Ball -- Good for catching Pokemon that evolve with Moon Stones, like Clefairy and Jigglypuff.
    • Special Trainers

There are six extremely helpful Pokemon trainers in Gold/Silver whose telephone numbers you should definitely keep in your Pokegear. These six will randomly give you tips on how to find rare Pokemon and steer you towards areas where certain Pokemon are currently "swarming."

Fisherman Ralph (Route 32): Helps you find Qwilfish
Hiker Anthony (Route 33): Helps you find Dunsparce
Bug Catcher Arnie (Route 35): Helps you find Yanma
Schoolboy Chad (Route 38): Helps you find Snubbull
Fisherman Wilton (Route 44): Helps you find Remoraid
Hiker Parry (Route 45): Helps you find Marill
    • Starting Pokemon (Gold version)

Select one of the following to get your first Pokemon:

Chicorita: a Grass type, like Bulbasaur.
Waninoko: a Water type, like Squirtle.
Hinorashi: a Fire type, like Charmander.
    • Surfin' Pikachu (without the N64)

First, you have to capture a *male* Smeargle, and a *female* Pikachu. Make sure that the only attack Smeargle knows is Sketch (preferably more than one). Breed them together, and you'll have a Pichu, that hopefully knows Sketch. Evolve it into Pikachu, and then battle a friend w/ the Pikachu in your line-up. Make sure your friend has a Pokemon that knows Surf. Battle the Pikachu and the Pokemon w/ Surf. Get your friend to use Surf on Pikachu. (Make sure Pikachu's strong enough not to faint!) Then use Sketch. Voila! You now have a Surfin' Pikachu! If you want, you can trade it to someone's Pokemon Yellow and then play the Surfin' Pikachu Game at Fuschia!
    • The best team

    lv85 Typlosion
    Lv85 Scisor
    lv85 Tyranitar
    lv77 Mew
    lv85 Lugia
    lv85 ho-oh
    • The Nidoran X

Breed a Nidoran girl and boy and let it hatch a egg. It will be a Nidoran. Keep doing this and get more than more than more than more Nidorans and you will have more Nidorans.
    • Three legendary dogs

Go to the city with the fourth gym and enter the big house. Break the rocks and fall down one of the holes to wake them up. Then, go outside and try to find them in the wild.
    • Three legendary dogs tip

First, I will need to say where are the Legendary Dogs. The Lightning one is above of the 7th city WITH the gym. Go to the GRASSY(not water)areas to find it. The Water one is on the left side of the 7th city(GRASSY not WATER). The fire one is on the left side of the 4th city WITH the gym. Go though the guard and go to the GRASSY areas. All of these are level 40. Heres the tip: Each time you see a wild Pokemon, one of the Dogs will change location. So you need to look in your Pokedex and see the new locations they are in. It might be tricky, but its worth it. If you get it, it is like getting instant Level 40.
    • Togepi

Defeat the first gym and go into the Pokecenter. Talk to the scientist and he will give you a egg. After 5,000 steps, it will hatch into Togepi.
    • Trade Evolutions

There are a couple of Pokemon that only evolve when traded with another trainer. Some trade evolutions also require that the Pokemon holds a certain item when traded:

    Kadabra - Alakazam
    Graveler - Golem
    Haunter - Gengar
    Machoke - Machamp
Poliwhirl - Politoed (hold King's Rock)
Onix - Steelix (hold Metal Coat)
Scyther - Scizor (hold Metal Coat)
    Porygon - Porygon2 (hold Up-Grade)
Slowpoke - Slowking (hold King's Rock)
Seadra - Kingdra (hold Dragon Scale)
    • Unknown Music

While in the Ruins of Alpha go to the Pokegear option in the menu screen. Go to the radio option and on the fourteenth to the twentieth channel you can find a station Called ??????. That is the Unown Music. It can only be heard here.
    • Yadoking

Equip Symbol Of King on Slowpoke and trade it into another GameBoy. It will evolve into Yadoking.

    Default Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver

    -Duplicate a Pokemon:
First you go to the box and save it, then open the box and
deposit the Pokemon you want to double then change the box
but when it says saving turn it off, then go to the box and
    it should be doubled.

    -Golden Ekans:
Go down to Violet City, just to the south there's a passing
into the cave, in that grass I found a golden Ekans and when
I evolved it it was a golden Arbok.

    -Gold Magikarp:
Breed a Gold Gyarados with a regular Gyarados. Get an egg it
    will be a Gold Magikarp.

    -Gold Gyarados:
Do you know where the fourth gym is? Surf right where the
Heracross are keep surfing untill you find it.

    -Colored Pokemons:
(Look for three stars to determine whether you've caught a
    colored Pokemon.)
    Lugia,
    Onix,
    Horsea,
    Wigglytuff,
    Tentacool,
    Tentacruel,
    Spinarak,
    Ariados,
    Golduck,
    Red Gyarados,
    Ponyta.

    -Duplicate a Pokemon:
To duplicate pokemon without going to the day-care center,
you go to a p.c and save your game in front of it. Next, you
go into the pokemon box and depopsit the pokemon that you
wish to clone. Next, you go and change to a different box.
When it says "saving, don't turn off the power," shut the
gameboy off before the word power ends, and turn it back on.
You should have that exact same pokemon in your party and in
    the box.

    -Pokeball trick:
First go to item pack (this works with poke&great balls) press
up and A. Your pokeball will become a greatball!

    -Duplicate items:
You can duplicate items like masterballs and rare candies by
making one pokemon hold that item and then you duplicate it
in your p.c. by duplicating in the p.c. you put the pokemon
in one box then you change box and when it says "saving dont
turn" you turn it off well you dont have to do that but just
dont turn it off when it says power

    -To catch a Pokemon:
    Get a gastly/haunter/gengar then get a scyther/scizzorbattle
any pokemon use gastly's mean look then use his hypnotism.
Then get scyther and use his false wipe until the wild
Pokemon has only 1 hp. Then throw a pokeball and you got it
see the false swipe never kills the Pokemon it leaves only at
    1hp

    -Get an egg:
Get a pokémon girl and a boy that is the same one. Then go to
Golden Road City and there is a house where a man and a
womans keeps your Pokémon in the garden for them to be more
powerfull. You give the boy to the man and the girl to the
woman. Later you go get your Pokémons and they give you an
    egg.

    -Duplicate pokemon:
Want to get another pokemon such as Togepi from the same
game, its easy simply take your rare pokemon to the daycare
centre give it to one of the people and give a Ditto to the
other, this will make an egg containing your desired pokemon

-Clear a path through the grass:
First you must have a pokemon that knows the move, cut. Once
you have it, go to the edge of the grassy area that you want
to cut. All you have to do is have the pokemon use cut there.
You will see that your pokemon has cut a section out of the
grass for you. Do this as many times as you want. It's that
    simple!

    -Catch Pokemon easier:
To catch pokemon easier when you've thrown use the A button
by pressing it or the arrow buttons following the movement of
    the Pokeball.

    -Colored Pokemon:
Did you know that any Pokemon in the wild can be colored?
I've seen a purple Nidoran Female.

    -Duplicate a Pokemon:
To duplicate pokemon by trading between any 2 pokemon games
you get a good pokemon that you wanna duplicate on one of the
game boys and a crappy pokemon on the other. Go to the
trading center, and let the person with the pokemon to be
duplicated talk to the lady first. Do the trade and when EACH
GameBoy says waiting, turn off the GameBoy that had the good
pokemon. Then wait a few seconds until the other GameBoy says
"trade completed" then you shut that one off. If "trade
completed" doesnt show up then you did it wrong.

    -Catch ledgendary birds easy:
Make sure you have a pokemon that can put others to sleep
then put it to sleep and throw a poke ball and you will catch
    it easy.

-How to get baby forms of some Pokemon:
First get a regular ditto then get one of the following
    Pokemon:

    Pikachu
    Jinx
    Electabuzz
    Jigilipuff
    Cleafery
    Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop
    Magmar

then get the ditto and one of the pokemon at the top and put
them in the daycare and you"ll get an egg then hatch it and
theres your baby form. The following are their names:

    Pikachu=Pichu
    Jinx= Smuch
    Electabuzz=Electakid
    Jigilipuff=Iggilybuff
    Cleafery=Clify
    Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop=tyroug
    magmar=magby

    -Catch pokemon easily:
This trick allows you to fight and catch pokemon easily with
    any kind of pokeball:
    1. Get in to a fight with any pokemon.
    2. Use a ball on them.any kind of ball will work.if you have
a dificulty using normal pokeballs, try more powerful ones to
    increase your chances even more.
    3. As soon as you see the ball explode press and hold the B
button .the timing for this is very important.you must press
B just as the pokeball explodes, which can be difficult.
    4. After the ball wobbles for the second time, release the B
    button and you have them.

Note: this trick will not work every time, but it will
increase your chances of catching them. It is not necessary
to do any damage to them, but some pokemon, like mewtwo and
zapdos will have to be put to sleep before the ball will hit
    them.

    -Tyrogue:
To get Tyrogue, breed an egg with Hitmonchan, Hitmontop, or
Hitmonlee with a Ditto at the daycare center. Or you can go
beat Blackbelt Kyo in Mt. Mortar to get one at L:10. Once
    Tyrogue is at L:20...
He will evolve into a Hitmontop if his Attack and Defense are
    the same.
He will evolve into a Hitmonchan if his Defense is higher
    than its Attack.
He will evolve into a Hitmonlee if his Attack is higher than
    its Defense.

    -Male and Female Pokemon:
You know how some Pokemon are male and some are female? Well,
it seems that female Pokemon have stats that are more even.
Male Pokemon don't have stats as even as females.

    -Easy High-Level Pokemon:
If you want to get a Pokemon to a certain level without
fighting other Pokemon, you can just copy Rare Cnady and give
it to the Pokemon you want to raise. Make sure you never run
completely out of Rare Candy. You always need at least one to
copy it again. (WARNING: Rare Candied Pokemon are much weaker
    than regularly raised Pokemon)

    -Fishing:
If you go up to a statue in one of the gyms and use a fishing
rod you should be able to catch a pokemon.

    -Easy level 100 Mewtwo:
When you catch Mewtwo in the unknown dungeon, battle the
elite four with Mewtwo as your first pokemon and every time
you beat them your Mewtwo will grow 1 or 2 levels higher.

    -Fighting tip:
To have a better chance, use false swipe. It leaves the
opponent with only 1HP left then put it to sleep and start
    throwing ultra balls at it!

    -Lugia and Ho-Oh:
To get an Ho-Oh in Pokémon silver and a Lugia in Pokémon gold
you go to the village wher is the Badge Rock! In this village
ther is an old man, and he says to you that when he was young
he came from Johto and he will give you an item to get Ho-Oh
in silver and Lugia in gold.

    -Multiple Pokemon:
In order to breed any pokemon you have, just breed the
pokemon with a ditto. Since ditto will breed anything it's
easy to get a level five version of any of your pokemon. Try
this with evee or any of his evolutions.

    -Golden Gyarados:
The golden gyarados is on the left side of the island that
you can find Herecross so try not to spend all of your time
    on the right.

    -Green Zubat:
In the grass beteen rockmoon cave and Cerulean theres a Green
    Zubat instead of a blue.

    -Glitch:
First go to the safari zone and say yes to the question.
After you go in come right back out. He'll ask you if you're
leaving early. Say no. Go back in and save. Reset the gameboy
and leave. He'll ask you if you want to join the hunt. Say no

coast. Keep on surfing until the bell rings. You'll be back
in the house. He'll say "did you get a good haul". Then just
leave the house and you'll be in Glitch City...

    caught.

    -Golden Pokemon:
You know about the Golden Gyaradose?? Well there are more
golden Pokemon! So far I've spotted A golden ZooBat in Ilex
Forest and a Gold Ekens south of Vilot City.

    -Instant egg:
Put a couple Pokemon at the nursery, and then get on the SS
Aqua. Then get back to the nursery. The couple has produced
    an egg.

    -Get a Tyrogue:
Go to the town where the fourth gym leader (the one with the
trick floor and ghost pokemon) is located at. Go to the east
of town. Go through the little building and go to the waters
edge, then surf east. You will come upon a land mass with a
cave in the mountain, enter it. Upon entry of the cave, surf
right then use TM 7 to surf up the waterfall. Go to the very
back of the cave where you'll find a cave entrance, enter it.
Inside the cavern, you have to surf around to get past the
ledges. Make your way to the upper left-hand corner of the
cavern until you find a ladder, use it. In the next room,
follow the ridge until it splits left and right. Go left and
continue east, then south when you can't go east anymore. You
will find a ladder there, use it. Go right and you will find
a man who looks like a karate trainer. Talk to him and he
will challenge you to a duel. He uses a level 34 hitmonlee
and a level 34 hitmonchan. Once you beat him, he will give
you a level 10 pokemon called Tyrogue.

    at night.

When the first time boarding the SS Aqua, check all the
dustbins in it. It will say "Nothing in here". When you get
to Kanto, check your inventory for unlimited masterball.

    -Get Pichu:
Go to daycare center, and put Ditto and Pikachu together.
Walk around a while, and you will get an Egg. Thats Pichu!

-For unlimited masterballs, or any other item:
You must first know the pokemon cloning cheat. Second, select
the item you want and make a pokemon hold it. Then put it in
Bill's pokemon storage system and clone it as many times as
desired. When you get done, all the clones will still be
holding the item. Just take their item and keep cloning for
    more.

    -Silver stantler:
Go to the place were Stantler is located and find him.

    -Gold Marill:
I saw a Gold Marill at night in the Dark Cave.

    -Eggs:
Go to the daycare center south of Goldenrod city. When you
are at the daycare center, can put any two Pokemon in there
that you want to grow levels, but it costs 100 credits plus
100 more for each level it grows. One good thing about this
daycare center is that if you put a male and female Pokemon
of the same species, eventually you will get an egg. The egg
will be the Pokemon of the lowest evolution. For example, a
Raichu female and a Raichu male will get you a Pichu, (random
gender), at L:5, since it is the lowest of the evolution
chain. (Note: All hatched Pokemon are at L:5.) You can also
put any Pokemon in the daycare with a Ditto and get a Pokemon
of the lowest evolution of the Pokemon other than Ditto.
    These Pokemon cannot produce eggs:

    1. Unown
    2. Igglybuff
    3. Togepi
    4. Cleffa
    5. Tyrogue
    6. Smoochum
    7. Elekid
    8. Magby
    9. Articuno
    10. Zapdos
    11. Moltres
    12. Mewtwo
    13. Mew
    14. Raikou
    15. Entei
    16. Suicine
    17. Nidorina
    18. Nidoqueen
    19. Pichu
    20. Lugia
    21. Ho-oh

    These Pokemon are always female:
    1. Nidoran Female
    2. Nidorina
    3. Nidoqueen
    4. Jynx
    5. Smoochum
    6. Kangaskhan
    7. Miltank
    8. Chansey
    9. Blissey

    These Pokemon are always male:
    1. Tauros
    2. Hitmonlee
    3. Hitmonchan
    4. Hitmontop
    5. Tyrogue
    6. Nidoran Male
    7. Nidorino
    8. Nidoking

These Pokemon don't have a gender:
    1. Magnemite
    2. Magneton
    3. Ditto
    4. Voltorb
    5. Electrode
    6. Staryu
    7. Starmie

You can still produce eggs with these Pokemon if you pair
them with a Ditto. These Pokemon are different Pokemon you
    can still make eggs with:
    1. Slowpoke male + Kangaskhan female = Kangaskhan
    2. Tauros male + Snubbull female = Snubbull

If you want to find out yourself, or if you deny anything
above and thing they will/won't instead of what is said
above, you can check the message of the Pokemon. These
messages show an egg is on the way:
    1. It shows interest in the other Pokemon.
    2. It appears to care for other Pokemon.
    3. It's friendly with the other Pokemon.

These messages show an egg isn't coming:
    1. It's brimming with energy.
    2. It has no interest in the other Pokemon.

Once you do have an egg, keep it in your party. Check the
message once in a while. Once the egg hatches, it will stop
you in your tracks and the message box will say, "Huh?". Then
it shows the Pokemon hatch. These are Pokemon called
    pre-evolutions:
    1. Pichu from Raichu or Pikachu.
    2. Smoochum from Jynx.
    3. Igglybuff from Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff.
    4. Cleffa from Clefairy or Clefable.
    5. Elekid from Electabuzz.
    6. Magby from Magmar.
    7. Tyrogue from Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmonlee.
