Hello, my PSP has been bricked for a little while and I'd like to try and get it working again. Its controls are frozen on the XMB screen, but they're just fine on the recovery menu. Also, when I turn it off from the XMB it freezes for a good 10 seconds before it actually turns off.
Unfortunately I'm not the one that hacked it in the first place so I'm not sure exactly what was done to it, but I'll give as much as I know: It's a 1000-model running a 5.XX kernel with no mods/plugins. About 6 months ago, I was playing a GBA emulator when it suddenly froze, and that's the last time I was able to use it.
I've heard that disabling "UseVshMenu" or formatting flash1 and resetting settings can fix this problem, but I tried both and it's still frozen. I also know the unit itself does have a few minor problems: the lower section of buttons (select, start, home, volume + and -) were getting flaky just before it stopped working, and the power light is always green whether the psp is on, off, or charging.
If anyone knows of a solution, I'd really appreciate your time and assistance. Thanks!
