Following this guide, I have a few questions, one of which is about version.txt

1. Step 3 is listed as a recovery bug fix for step 4, but if I do not wish to do step 4 (speeding up the memory stick), i sit necessary?

2. My original version.txt (the unedited one) had no line breaks, but the two made available to copy/paste cause line breaks. Is this going to be a problem? Kind of worried about it considering it's a system file.
