Sorry if this looks like some of these other threads, but i'm looking into getting some memory for my PSP. Now researching the subject if seeing 32gb getting thrown around a lot, so i'm probably gonna be heading that route. However, before i venture that way I'm wondering about the Memory Stick XC.
Sony and SanDisk have launched the Memory Stick XC a little over a year ago and we heard a little more about it some time in last August. After that I've seen nothing regarding the matter. It's 2tb claim without a doubt makes it better then its 32gb cousin and if the price is right should make it the clear winner here, however these questions come to mind:
1.When will the MS XC be released? I absolutely have no clue on the topic, even though i didn't search to hard, and if someone could shine some light on this that would be great.
2.Will they release the 2tb stick out of the gate with smaller MS XC? Even if they were to launch much smaller versions of the MS XC its bound to be a significant increase from 32gb.
3.Can the PSP even handle that much of a capacity from its removable memory? As far as I can tell, the amount of memory the PSP can handle is only bound to its Firmware, and seeing that custom firmware can be written, I wouldn't think that this would be an issue.
So is it worth it to tough it out and wait for the MS XC? If you don't think so then that brings me to what should I do for 32gb stick. Aside from your standard 32gb stick there's an alternate route. Jamming 2 16gb Micro SD cards into an adapter and call it a day. I myself wanna splurg a little on memory and so I'd rather go for those faster transfer rates. But i can't seem to find any speed specs for the 2 sd card/adapter combo. Anyone have a clue on the transfer rates on that guy?
So what do you guys think?
-Wait on Memory Stick XC
-32gb Memory Stick Pro Duo
-2x16gb Micro SD cards plus Adapter
*I'm not to concerned with the cash but I'm not exactly set for life either, or else i wouldn't be here.
*Also does anyone have an idea of the quality of these Lexar MS. They look surprisingly cheap to buy and has got me wondering why.
