• Adjust Screen Size

At the Option screen, hold L + R, then press Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down, Up, Down on Controller 1. Your choices are Saturn (normal) and Arcade (wider).

• Kick Them When They're Down

First set the L and/or R (Super Jump and Run) buttons off. When you win a round, press L or R and walk around and beat up the character on the ground.

• Play as Akuma

A dimensional rift has brought Akuma to the X-men. If you'd like to play with this classic character, here's what to do.

• Play as Juggernaut

To play as the unstoppable Juggernaut, try this trick. Choose Akuma, then win one round and press Continue. There will be no face on the character screen, but if you press Upper-Right twice you'll see Juggernaut. Have fun!

Note: This trick only works on the Japanese version.

• Quick Continue

To get back into the game faster, hold L or R while pressing Start to continue. This will let you continue with the same fighter in about one second (instead of five). If you do this during VS. Mode, you'll still be able to select a fighter.

• Secret Moves for Storm and Psylocke

At the options screen, put the right and left shift buttons to where there is a slash (no function). Then play as Psylocke and to get her to taunt, press the right shift button. Or play as Storm and to get her to do a new special move, wait until the mutant bar is full and then make a fireball motion and she will do an ice storm attack.

• Select 2-player Vs. mode

For Player 1
Stop your pointer on "Spiral", then move your pointer to the following characters in order: Silver Samurai, Psylocke, Colossus, Iceman, Colossus, Cyclops, Wolverine, Omega Red, Silver Samurai.

Then wait 1 second and press Weak Kick + Fierce Punch + Fierce Kick.

For Player 2
Stop your pointer on Storm, then move your pointer to the following characters in order: Cyclops, Colossus, Iceman, Sentinel (turn left to go to this character), Omega Red, Wolverine, Psylocke, Silver Samurai, Spiral.

Then wait 1 second and press Weak Kick + Fierce Punch + Fierce Kick.

After performing this trick once, hold L + R + X + Y + Z and press Start on the continue screen. Akuma's name will appear on the list.
