Default Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Cheat Codes (for Super Nintendo)

Where's the Power Glove in the Dark World?

When you enter the 4th dungeon, go up one room, left one, down one room,
now go in the door on the right wall that is at the bottom of the room.
Open the chest to get the Big key. Go back to the 3rd room where the
door that you open with the big key is and go through it. Go to the top of
the room. Under one of the pots is a key. Use the key to enter the first
door you saw in the room. Now go as far as you can. Now go up one room.
There is a key under the pot. Use the key to open the door. The switch in
the lower left hand corner will open the door. Go left as far as you can
and through a Bomb on the floor that you can't get to because of walls.
When you bomb open the floor go back to the stairs. Go down one room.
Left till you reach the room that almost filled up with moving floors.
Go down the stairs here and go right one room all the way down in and
take the door on the right. Quickly pound down one of the poppers and
open the chest. You now have the Titan's Mitt. Go left two screens. Up
all the way and what's this? A decendant of the seven wise men? Well
not really. Take her to the bosses room and walk into the light. She
now reveals her true from as Blind the Thief and friend of Gannon to
beat this boss simply hit his head. When he collapses his head will
start flying around the room. He'll do this two times when his third
head appears make him collapse one more time and you win.

Where are the keys in the Ice Palace?

    1. Key: In the room with spikes and the coveyer-belt floor, I believe
that the first On/Off you see (the blue things that shock you if they
are flashing) will yield a key when you kill it.

    2. Key: This room will be U-shaped. It has a spike floor in the dip of
the U, there is a locked door on the left, and just right of the spikes
is a pot. If you do not have the Hookshot, Magic Cape, or the Cane of
Byrna, then you have to lose a heart or two crossing the spikes. Cross
the spikes. Lift the pot, step on the switch that appears. Cross the
spikes again, open the chest that appeared. It contains a key. Cross the
spikes one more time, and go down the stairs so you can get another.

    3. Key: When you are down the stairs, you will be in an H shaped room.
In the middle of the room is a large block you can lift. Be careful of
the Staflos knight, he appears in this room. Use the Magic Hammer to
pound the Walrus heads in, then lift the block. Revealed is a magic
transformer that will change you into a rabbit for a few seconds.
Also revealed is another key. When you get the key, pound the other
two Walrus heads in, and move towards the statue. Dispatch of the
second Staflos knight, then pull on the tongue of the statue to open
the door on the right. Enter the door. You will find some stairs. Go on
the stairs to get to the...

    4. Big Key: When you get off of the stairs, you will find a treasure chest.

    5. Key: In an icy room with a rotating bar of fireballs, and anti-faerie
(one of those skulls with red globs rotating about it), and four scurring
little demon looking things (two rooms right of the Big Chest), under
one of the many pots present is another key.

    6. Key: After you get the key explained in 5, go down one room, and
then left one. You should be in a room with two blue On/Offs. Lift the
pot to hit the switch to make a chest appear. There is that key.

How do you get the silver arrows to kill Gannon?

When you have gotten 6 crystals from the dungeons, (You don't have to get
the Turtle Rock Crystal), go to the bomb shop in the dark world, (where
your house is in the dark word) by pounding the stakes down with your
hammer, go inside and you will see a big, pink bomb. it cost 100 rupees.
Get it and it will follow you. don't use you Pegasus boots or it will
detonate in 3 seconds. Take it to the pyramid, (Which is Hyrule Castle
in the light World) and do you know where that cracked wall is? Make the
pink bomb blow up in front of it. Go inside and it will be a fairy place
where you throw things in. Throw your bow and arrow inside. Then a ugly
fairy comes out and says, "Did you throw this in?" Say Yes. She will then
say" I will give you something better in return for being honest. Then
the arrows will be silver. Then the fairy will explain the purpose of
    the silver arrows.

Another way to get the magic cape

This is a other way to get the magic cape. Go to the dark world cemetery
go cut the bush go inside the little space and then go to the top of the
little space and use the magic mirror and then go to the bottom of the
little space and dash into the reddish pink thing and go down the stairs
then go up and open the chest.

    Magic Bottles

The places to get all of the Magic Bottles

Buy one from the merchant in the Lightworld's town.

Get one under the bridge leading to the castle.

Bring the locked chest found in the Dwarfsmiths house (in the darkworld
after your sword is tempered) to the old man at the entrance to the
    desert in lightworld.

The other one should be found in a chest somewhere.

    Chests

If you go to the lost woods right above where the lumberjacks are,
you will see a tunnel. If you go in there, there will be three chests.
The guy will say, I'll let you open one chest for 100 rupees. One chest
contains 20 rupees, but the other two contain 300!! You can only do
    this once though.

How to get to Chris Houlihan's room

To get to Chris Houlihan's room, you must first go to the light world. Then
press select and choose "Save & Quit." Open up your game again and choose
to begin in the sanctuary. This part will now require speed. When you
begin quickly use your sprint boots to go south. Then quickly run west
a screen. Then run south until when you head east you will get to the
castle. Once there run east until you nearly hit the castle. Then go south.
Run east again, then north to where the secret passage in the bush is.
Dash through the bush. If you get in it quickly enough you will enter Chris
Houlihan's room which has lots of blue rupees and a sign that says the name
    of the room.

Secrets with out the Moon Pearl

You can get to places other than Death Mountain, and beat levels 1 and 3
in the Dark World..... and not have the Moon Pearl! Here's how it's done:
Start a new game. Rescue Zelda, beat the Eastern Palace, and get the
Pegasus Boots. Go to the Desert Palace and get the Power Glove. Go up
Death Mountain, get the Magic Mirror, and step on the Warp Tile to get
to the Dark World. Fall off the cliff at the mall break in the edge. Go
right until you reach the edge which has 2 gate posts, but no fence.
Jam yourself tightly against the underside of the top post and the
edge of the cliff. Use the Magic Mirror. Charge your sword, very lightly
tap right on the control pad, and let the portal pull you back. DON'T
MOVE!!! Use the Mirror again right where you are. This time, charge
your sword and move all the way off the portal. When you become
solid again, keep you sword charged and move slowly back left onto
the portal. You should be standing.....on the edge of the cliff! Hold
right-and you will jump off the edge of the cliff! Walk right, you
will see a break in the lava slightly above and to the right of a round
rock. Jam yourself against the left side of this rock and move down
to the next screen. *CAUTION* If you do not go down in the spot
indicated, everything will get really glitchy and you will have to reset.
Bummer! When you have crossed, graphics will be a little glitched,
but you can fix this by using the mirror and letting it pull you back.
Next, go to the Dark world Swamp Ruins. CAREFUL!! You are still a
defenseless and easily killed bunny! Make sure you have a fairy in a
bottle at this point. This is how I remember making this work, it
may not be accurate. I'm not sure. Go to the big pond NW of the ruins.
Go to the right side of it and go into the shallow water. Keep moving
left until you hit the deep water. Now, move left by lightly tapping
left. When you cross to the next screen, you should be walking on
the water. If not, go back, move down a little, and go left again.
When you are walking, get killed. Use up all your fairies getting
killed. When "Game Over" comes up, choose Save and Continue. You
should be in the Dark World (I Think-bad memory) and you should be
human w/o the Moon Pearl!!! If this does not work, try variations
until something works. Sorry I can't remember. When something
works, you're off to beat the Dark World!

If you have a frozen enemy, like with the Ice Rod or Ether, use the hammer
on it, and you'll usually get either a small or large Magic refiller.

    Magic Cloak

To get the Magic Cloak, you don't need the level 3 lift. Here's how. Go to the
graveyard in the Dark World, and go to the spot where it would be in the
Light World, and use the mirror. You'll end up between the dark stones, and
the tombstone. Dash into it from there.

    Get a magic refill

Their are these little green guys walking around in the area where the magic
shop is. If you put magic powder on them, they will turn into silly green guys.
If you freeze them while they are transformed and you hit them with your
hammer, they will turn back to normal. Also defeating these green guys
usually gives you a magic refill. But beware they will electrocute you if you
don't have the Hero Sword (Sword #4). Stun them with a boomerang first.

Five easy ways to get money

There are five easy ways to get money. First, in the town, there is a girl
who walks in front of her house. She is the girl with no mail box. What
you do is go in her house and pull on the mario picture. Two and three,
the fish--when they are out of the water, pick them up and put them in
deep water and it will give you $20. If you cut the grass under anything
that jumps up in the air and you will get something. At the pyramid, pull
on a statue and you will get $20. Lastly, pull on a claw at crystal seven.

Get inside dungeon 6 without a Hookshot

You don't need the Hookshot to get inside dungeon #6. All you need
to do is go behind the block in the beginning then dash into it.
While your in the air moving to the right side press and hold right
until your in the other side. Do the same thing on your way out of
the dungeon, this time using the other block.

    Get lots of money

To get lots of money in about 10-15 minutes do this. Get the first
glove and go the "middle-aged man". Go below him and there
should be two big rocks. Pick up the bottom one. Go inside the passage
and under every pot there is a blue rupee. You can go in and out and
    there is lots of rupees.

How do I catch the man that runs away from me in the Light World village?

Approach him from the west. As soon as he starts running
away from you, Dash Attack (via the Pegasus Shoes) towards
him. You'll catch him. All he does is tell you to try dashing into
    Trees, anyway.

What should I do with the Magic Powder?

Once you've gotten the Magic Hammer, go jump into the hole
outside the Blacksmiths' House in the Light World. Sprinkle
Magic Powder on the altar you'll find down there, and you'll
gain the ability to perform magic at half the normal magic point cost.

You can also sprinkle it on the white-and-red flying skulls that
drain your Hearts and Magic gauge in the dungeons, and they'll
turn into Fairies. Quite an improvement. (A rare few of them
    are immune to this.)

There's also a chicken in one of the houses that will turn into a
woman if you sprinkle Magic Powder on her. Doesn't accomplish
    anything, but it's amusing.

Where are the eight Transport Squares in the Light World?

    1) In the far Southwest corner of the Desert, under a black
rock. Only reachable via the Flute.
    2) In the Northwest part of the grassy area in the Southern
part of the world, under a white rock. You need the Magic
    Hammer to reach it.
    3) At one of the lowest points on Turtle Rock.
    4) On the top of Death Mountain.
    5) On top of Turtle Rock, but you must first use the Magic
Hammer to hammer down the posts you find there. Hammer
them in a Counterclockwise direction, starting with the
    Southeastern one.
    6) In the easternmost Southern entrance to the Lost Woods.
If you go there from the South, you'll need the Titan
Gloves to lift a black rock. If you go there from the North
(inside the Lost Woods), you'll need the Magic Hammer.
The transporter is under a white rock.
    7) Under the black rock on the largest island in Lake Hylia.
    8) In the center of a circle of posts (need Magic Hammer) near
a cave mouth in the eastern quadrant of the world. It's under a
    white rock.
    X) The entrance to Hyrule castle, after you've defeated
Agahnim for the first time. Just walk through the front
gates, and you'll appear in the Dark World...it's not strictly
    a Transport Square.

I'm at the end of level 3F in Ganon's Tower (the final Dark World dungeon, after Turtle Rock), and I can see a ledge along the south wall, but I can't seem to reach it.

See those blocks across from the ledge? Dash into them from
the south, by either standing right on the edge of the platform,
or by facing east, holding the button down to Dash, and then
facing North just before the Dash causes you to move.

Some places where you can get Pieces of Heart

If you climb the ladder that is north of the Cemetery, in the Dark
World, you can get a Piece of Heart by using the Magic Mirror. Enter
the cave and then bomb through the right wall.

At the northwest corner of the Ice Palace, you will see a large circle
of stones. Go inside the circle and use the Magic Mirror and you will
end up on an island with a piece of a heart on it.

At the 22 stakes south of the Smithy in the Dark World, hit them
with the hammer and you will find a passage way to a piece of heart.

Find the sign that says "I'll give a piece of heart to the person who
wears the cape." Go in the cave and go to the second floor. Use the
Hookshot to cross the hole, and then use the Magic Cape to walk
through the bumper, then go outside to find the piece of heart.

In the Dark World, south of the Haunted Grove, there is a small circle
of bushes. Get in the center and use the Magic Mirror, and then go in
the cave to find the piece of heart.

In the Village of Outcast, you can get a piece of heart at the digging
    game and the chest game.

In Kakariko Village you can get a piece of heart from jumping in the
well, and playing the 15-second game.

There are 24 pieces of heart.

A piece of heart can also be found by going to the north-east
corner of the dark world desert, stand in the culdesac and use
the mirror then lift the large rock to reveal a set of stairs down.

In the Dark World, go into turtle rock and find a door that leads to a
walkway along the outside wall. As soon as you get outside, use your
mirror and warp into the light world. Enter the door that you warped
in front of and defeat the monsters inside (they're a bunch of pussys).
From there go through the door above and gain what should be the final
    piece of heart.

    Items

To find the Book of Mudora, you must go into the library in Kakariko
Village. Inside the library, a book sits high on a bookshelf; it
seems too high to be reached. However, if you dash into the bookshelf
using the Pegasus Shoes, the book will come tumbling down.

Four bottles that can hold valuable potions or fairies are hidden
throughout Hyrule. Some are very easy to locate and others are more
difficult. The first bottle Link can acquire is in Kakariko Village.
Near the beginning of Link's quest, he can purchase it from a
salesman near the town square for 100 rupees. The next bottle is also
located in the village. Link can walk into the back door of the Inn,
which is located in the south-east corner of town, to find a chest
containing the bottle. Another bottle can be found near Lake Hylia.
Once Link has gotten the Flippers, he must simply swim upstream from
the great lake. As he swims, he will go under a bridge where a
friendly hobo will offer him the third bottle. The last bottle is the
most difficult to locate. After Link has had his sword tempered, he
must journey to the Gossip Shop (the Blacksmith's Shop in the Dark
World) where he will find a locked chest. If he attempts to open it,
he notices that the key has been locked inside and that the chest
mysteriously follows him wherever he goes. To open the chest, Link
should travel to the desert in the Light World where an odd
middle-aged man sits alone by a sign. As it turns out, this man is a
retired lock-smith who will help you if you keep a secret for him.

The Bug Catching Net is found in Kakariko Village. A sick boy resides
in a house south-east of the town square. When you talk to the boy,
he realizes your predicament and gives you his net.

The Cane of Byrna is found on Death Mountain in the Dark World. To
obtain it, start in the Light World and step on the warp tile right
below the third Pendant Palace. When you appear in the Dark World,
walk straight down off the edge of the cliff to land on a narrow
ledge with a cave. Enter the cave to find the chest that contains the
Cane of Byrna. On the way there to avoid being hurt by the spikes in
the floor, bring Fairies, Red or Blue Medicine or use the Magic Cape.

The Cane of Somaria is in the Big Chest inside the sixth Crystal
Palace. The Big Chest is found in the far right room in on the first
basement level. When you enter this room, quickly use the Hookshot to
cross over a small pit, then dash up the narrow bridge above you
before it collapses. Use the Big Key to open the Big Chest and receive
    the Cane of Somaria.

The Magic Cape is found in the Light World Cemetery. Use the Titan's
Mitt to clear a way to the small stone near the upper-right corner of
the graveyard. Then, perform the dash attack against the grave stone
located here. Enter the opening to find the chest containing the Magic Cape.

The Flute is found in the Haunted Grove in the Light World. After
getting the Shovel in the Dark World, dig up all the flowers in the
Grove. If you are very thorough, the Flute can be found with little
    difficulty.

The Hammer is found in the on the first floor of the first Crystal
Palace. Go to the room that has a blue bumper in the center. (A blue
bumper is the object that bounces you back when you touch it.) Hit the
Crystal Switch so the blue posts go down. Drop a Bomb, pick it up and
toss it at the Crystal Switch, then run as fast as you can past the
blue posts. Walk to the upper-right corner of the room and enter the
door. Quickly cross the break-away bridge at the top of the room and
go through the door on the left. You will enter a darkened room. Bomb
the crack in the lower-right corner of the wall and walk through to
find the Big Chest and Hammer.

The Hookshot is located on the first basement floor of the second
Crystal Palace. From the entrance of the palace, work your way to the
large room in the center of the first basement. The chest is located
on a platform in the center of this room. Use the Big Key on the Big
    Chest to receive the Hookshot.

The Magic Cape is found in the Light World Cemetery. Use the Titan's
Mitt to clear a way to the small stone near the upper-right corner of
the graveyard. Then, perform the dash attack against the grave stone
located here. Enter the opening to find the chest containing the Magic Cape.

You will receive the Magic Mirror on your journey to the top of Death
Mountain. As you work your way up the mountain, you will run into an
old man that has lost his way. Escort the man to his home on Death
Mountain and he will reward you with the mirror.

The Moon Pearl is located in the Big Chest inside the third Pendant
Palace. The chest is located in the top-center area of the fourth
floor. You cannot access the chest directly, so you must go up to the
fifth floor, step on a Star Tile and drop from the top side of the
hole in the center of the room. This will place you next to the Big
Chest. Open it with the Big Key to obtain the Moon Pearl.

The Pegasus Shoes are found in Sahasrahla's hideout near the first
Pendant Palace. After receiving the Pendant from the palace, show it
to Sahasrahla to prove your worth. He will then give you access to
the chest that contains the Pegasus Shoes.

To obtain the Power Glove from the second Pendant Palace, Link must
use the Big Key to unlock the Big Chest in the upper-left corner of
    the first basement.

The Shovel can be found in the Haunted Grove in the Dark World. Talk
to the Flute Boy who has been transformed into an Aardvark in the Dark
World. He will give you the Shovel and a valuable clue regarding his Flute.

The Titan's Mitt is found in the second basement of the fourth Crystal
Palace. From the entrance of the palace, work your way to the top-left
corner of the second basement. The Titan's Mitt is in the Big Chest
in the lower-left corner of this floor. If you don't have enough small
keys to reach it, open the chest in the jail cell in the top-right
corner of this floor to find more.

    Medallions

To acquire the Bombos Medallion, travel to the entrance of the Desert
in the Dark World and look for. several purple posts surrounding a
grassy area. Stand within the posts and use the Magic Mirror to
appear near a monolith in the Light World. Use the Book of Mudora to
read the script on the monolith and receive the Bombos Medallion.

The Ether Medallion is hidden atop Death Mountain. Venture west of the
Tower of Hera to find a large green monolith. Use the Book of Mudora
to translate the ancient symbols. If you have the Master Sword, you
    will receive the Ether Medallion.

To find the Quake Medallion, you must journey to northeastern Hyrule
in the Dark World, past the area where the Medicine Shop would be
located at in the Light World. As you work your way towards the water
to the northeast, you will find a sign that reads: "Curses on anyone
who throws something into my circle of stones!" Toss any object--a
rock or bush will work fine--into the circle to receive the Quake
    Medallion.

    Weapons

To find the Bow, you must explore the first Pendant Palace thoroughly.
The Big Chest, located near the top-center portion of the first floor,
contains the Bow. Remember, you must also recover the Big Key in order
    to open the Big Chest.

The Ice Rod is located on the eastern shore of Lake Hyrule. Once you
have the Flippers, swim to the eastern shore and walk up to find a
cave entrance. To the left of the entrance, you will notice a strange
rock. Use a Bomb on this rock to create a new entrance. Follow the
    path to the Ice Rod.

The Fire Rod is found on the first floor of the third Crystal Palace.
Lift away the square-formation of flowers located up and right from
the first skull entrance to reveal a hole leading down. Drop into the
hole and bomb the left wall to reveal an opening. Step on the Star
Tile at the bottom of the room and walk left through the path you just
opened. Pull the lever in the center of the room to destroy the bottom
wall and go down and open the chest to receive the Fire Rod.

The Silver Arrows are hidden in a secret chamber in the Dark World
Pyramid. To gain entrance to this chamber, purchase the Super Bomb
from the Bomb Shop and walk back to the Pyramid. Use the Super Bomb on
the cracked portion of the Pyramid's wall. If the Super Bomb is not
in the Bomb Shop, you have not completed the first six Crystal Palaces
or you do not have the Tempered Sword. Once you're inside the chamber,
throw the Bow and Arrow into the pond to receive the Silver Bow and Arrow.

    Swords

The Master Sword is located in the upper-left corner of the Light
World forest. The forest contains several false swords, but if you
explore thoroughly, you will discover a raised cement slab in a
peaceful grove. Once you've obtained the three Pendants, stand in
front of the slab and you will receive the sword.

To acquire the Tempered Sword, you must rescue the Black Smith's
long-lost apprentice from the Dark World. The apprentice, who looks
like a frog, is trapped between some rocks at the bottom of the
Village of Outcasts. Lift the rocks with the Titan's Mitt to free
him, then lead him back to the Black Smith's Shop in the Light World.
At that point, you will be told to come back later to get your Sword
tempered. While they are upgrading your Sword, go to the Village and
come back to their house to find that they've finished the job.

The Golden Sword is hidden in a secret chamber in the Dark World
Pyramid. Link must use the Super Bomb, which is purchased at the Bomb
Shop, to open the cracked spot on the Pyramid wall. Once inside,
throw the Tempered Sword into the pond and you'll receive the Golden
    Sword in return.

    Shields and Armor

Link can obtain the Large Shield one of two ways. First, he can
receive it for free at the Waterfall of Wishing. This special
waterfall is located north-east of the Medicine Shop. Link can swim up
into the waterfall to find a mysterious pond. This pond will offer
Link two different items. First, choose the shield icon using the
control pad. Then, press the A button to throw the shield in the pond.
After discarding the shield, a friendly faerie will arrive to give
Link an improved shield. The Large Shield is also available for
purchase at the Forest Shop for 500 Rupees. The Forest Shop can be
found south-east of the Fortune Teller's shop next to Kakariko
    Village in the Light World.

The Mirror Shield is found in the Big Chest inside the seventh
Crystal Palace. To reach the Big Chest, you must go to the lower left
corner of the first basement and bomb the crack in the southern wall.
Walk out onto a ledge and go right to re-enter the palace. Finally,
use the Cane of Somaria to reach the chest.

The Blue Armor is found in the Big Chest located on the fifth basement
level of the fifth Crystal Palace. Work your way through to the far
left room in the third basement. Walk down the stairs in this
ice-filled room to enter a room with a cracked section of floor and a
hole. Place a bomb on the spaces above the stairway to reveal a
second hole. Then, drop down into the hole to land next to the Big Chest.

The Red Armor is in the Big Chest located in Gannon's Tower. To reach
the Red Armor once you have the Big Key, go to the large room with the
invisible floor. This room is found in the bottom center of the first
floor. Walk up through the top left door in this room to find the Big Chest.

Default RE: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

    Tips on Light World Bosses

The Armos Knights guarding the Pendant of Courage look like six
bouncing statues. To defeat them, you must use both your swordsmanship
and archery skills. The Armos Knights are weakest to Arrows, and can
be defeated with three Arrows each. If you run out of Arrows, switch
to the Sword and swing for all you're worth. One Armos Knight takes
12 strikes from the Sword to be defeated.

The Lanmolas that guard the Pendant of Power are three large green
worms which shoot up out of the sand floor and dive back down again.
To defeat them, power up your Sword by holding the B Button and use
the Whirling Blade Technique on the worms' heads. Each of the Lanmolas
will require eight hits from the sword before they are vanquished.

Moldorm is a large, yellow worm with five round sections, whose only
vulnerable point is at the tip of his tail. Stand at a safe distance
from the edges of the platform and hold the B Button to charge up
your Sword. Once your Sword is fully charged, release the B Button to
perform the Whirling Blade Technique. Six hits to Moldorm's tail will
put him away for good! Be careful -- if you fall off the platform,
Moldorm will regain all of his energy. If this happens, you will have
to climb back up and start again. (All the hits you scored against
him will have been healed, and you will have to hit him another six
times without falling off the edge.)

The only way to defeat Agahnim is to use his own magic against him.
To do this, swing your Master Sword at the fireballs Agahnim throws to
deflect them back to him. Occasionally, Agahnim will stand at the top
of the room and unleash an incredible lighting attack. To avoid being
hit, stand against one of the side walls in the room.

Default RE: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

    Tips on Dark World Bosses

Helmasaur is a red four legged monster with a spiked tail that he
lashes out at you. He has a weak point in the middle of his forehead
that he carefully protects with a strong purple mask. Use three Bombs
or your Hammer to break through the mask. Then, attack the gem in the
center of his head with your Sword or the Arrows to finish him off.

Arrghus is a large, one-eyed jellyfish that has a thick coating of
pink puff balls surrounding him. To defeat him, you must destroy the
pink balls one at a time. Do this by using your Hookshot to pull a
pink ball near you and hit it with your sword until it disappears.
Repeat this process until you destroy all of the pink puff balls
surrounding Arrghus. Once this is done, you must hit Arrghus eight
times with your Sword or four times with the Hammer to defeat him.

Mothula is a giant moth that shoots rings of fire at you. Before you
go into battle with Mothula, you should have one Magic Medicine
bottle (the blue one) and the 1/2 symbol above your Magic Meter. Shoot
Mothula repeatedly with the Fire Rod as you try to avoid the spike
traps in the room. If you are having trouble doing avoiding the traps,
use the Cane of Byrna for protection. Mothula will take 15 shots from
the Fire Rod or eight hits from Link's Sword to be defeated.

Blind the Thief is a demon that moves around the room shooting out
red lasers at Link. To defeat him, stand behind the square patch of
sunlight and swing your Sword at him whenever he is nearby. While he's
circling around the room, move left and right to dodge his laser
attacks. Keep hitting his head until a total of three heads have
fallen off. Each head takes three hits from the Sword or Hammer.

Kholdstare looks like an eye frozen inside a huge chunk of ice. To
defeat him, thaw him out with eight shots of your Fire Rod while
avoiding his icy attacks. After the eighth shot, he will break up
into three eyeballs that bounce around the room. Hit each eyeball six
times with the Sword to defeat them.

Vitreous is a large eyeball surrounded by a bunch of smaller eyes
that fly at you. To defeat him, stand in the bottom-left or
bottom-right corner of the room to avoid his lighting attacks.
Destroy the small eyes that fly at you. The Whirling Blade Technique
works the best. After defeating all of the small eyes, the big eye
will start to bounce around. Use the Whirling Blade Technique again
    to finish him off.

To defeat Trinexx, you must combine the powers of the Fire Rod, the
Ice Rod, and your Sword. Use the Fire Rod on Trinexx's blue head to
stun it, then hit it with your Sword. Repeat this until the blue head
is defeated. Then, use the Ice Rod on Trinexx's red head to stun it,
then hit it with your Sword until it also disappears. Trinexx will
then change into a worm-like creature with a flashing circle near the
center of his body. Hit this flashing area three times with the Sword
to defeat Trinexx once and for all.

When you fight Agahnim in the Dark World, he brings along two friends.
You can tell who the real Agahnim is because the other two are
slightly hazy. Attack the real Agahnim by using his own magic against
him: Swing your Master Sword at the fireballs he throws to reflect
their evil power back at his image. Caution: Agahnim will
occasionally stand at the top of the room and unleash an incredible
lighting attack. Stand to one side of the wizard to safely avoid it.
Once he's gone, you're off to Ganon!

To defeat Ganon, you must use the Silver Arrows when he is weak.
Unfortunately, he isn't a push-over. The battle will be a long and
difficult one. Avoid Ganon's attacks while hitting him with your
Sword as often as you can. After a while, Ganon will attempt to put
out the lights in the room. When this happens, light BOTH pots with
your Fire Rod (this is REALLY important), then hit Ganon with the
Sword to turn him blue. Hit him with the Silver Arrows when he's
blue, then wait for him to recover. Repeat the process of lighting
the braziers and shooting Gannon with the Silver Arrows three more
times. Once you've defeated him, you have completed your quest.

Default Re: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Under Hyrule (With Zelda)

    Under Hyrule (With Zelda)

Rescue Princess Zelda and jump off of a ledge. At this point, save while in midair and re-open the file. Then take damage from the enemy in front of Zelda's cell and move in any direction. Link will be invisible and he'll be able to pass through walls from under Agahnim's Castle. He can also go to all of the Temples but he won't be able to complete them. Make sure Link doesn't walk on the edge of a raised wall or else he'll return to ground level.

This can be used to beat the game early without collecting a single status item or fighting any bosses. However, when the game is restarted after the ending, a number will appear indicating the number of times that the game was played and Link is automatically sent to a glitched version of the Dark World as a rabbit with Zelda following him in her normal form. Link is automatically sent back to the Light World if the game is restarted.

If Link manage to return to ground level and get to the Sanctuary, there will be a clone of Zelda that automatically disappears when Link exits. This also happens if Link returns to ground level and go to Agahnim's room for the first time.

Additionally, Link is able to enter other palaces and return to ground level. This allows him to steal Big Keys and other necessary quest items from the palaces or also be able to defeat the palace bosses. However, instead of getting the pendant or crystal, Link will get another item such as a medallion unless the palace is re-entered. When he returns to the palace in normal game play, instead of fighting the boss again, the pendant or crystal immediately drops to the ground for Link to retrieve.

Also, when Link is navigating palaces through the use of the glitch, there will be palaces that don't have a single enemy or boss, which allows him to rob the palaces of their treasure. Since Link already got the Big Key from Agahnim's castle, he can use the key on many Big Key Doors if the glitch is in use, but he can't use the Big Key after re-entering the palace. Be careful though, as Link can enter areas that can completely freeze the game.
Also, Zelda can disappear, making the game unbeatable. But in order to go back to the Overworld, Link must die from falling in a bottomless pit. The game generally slows down, and Link dies. If Link continues the game, Link will be at the Sanctuary's entrance, but the Imprisoning War is still being fought. If Link encounters a guard, the game must be reset or else Link will be caught in an infinite loop. If he encounters the guards on his way to the castle, he will be swimming in the wall. If he encounters the guards on his way to the Desert Palace, he will keep running.

It is possible to gain full access to the Eastern Palace and partial access to the Desert Palace. However, if Link collects a Small Key in either palace, he must use that key before re-entering the palace or else the key will be lost. Also, if Link defeats the Armos Knights or Lanmolas without re-entering the palace, Link will receive the Ether Medallion and he'll be able to use it with the Fighter's Sword. If he re-enters the palace either after defeating the bosses or prior to fighting them, Link will receive the Pendant of Courage or the Pendant of Power.

However, Link can only access the Tower of Hera through the glitch if he keeps going left. Link will be able to return to ground level but there will be no enemies, including Moldorm, and also crystal switches will be absent, so Link will only be able to steal the Moon Pearl since he can't exit and re-enter the palace.

Below is a list of what Link can obtain through the glitch.

    Bow & Arrows
Pendant of Courage & Pendant of Power: Link must open the big key doors and the boss doors first then exit and re-enter the palaces. Defeat the bosses and Link will receive the pendants.
    Moon Pearl
Small Keys: Once obtained through the use of the glitch, they are considered as small keys obtained from Agahnim's castle. If the glitch is re-activated, they are able to open any small key doors in any dungeon.
Big Keys: It's advised not to steal Big Keys or else the Big Key will automatically be discarded when Link re-enters that palace, making the game unbeatable. Only use the Big Key acquired from Agahnim's castle since technically, Link is "still in Agahnim's castle". Due to this, Link is able to open any big key doors with that one key alone.
Ether Medallion: This is automatically retrieved if Link chooses not to re-enter a palace and defeat a boss. The best place to obtain this is at the Eastern Palace. Don't try this at the Desert Palace because once Link has already stolen the small keys there, he won't be able to re-enter the palace through the use of the glitch.
Book of Mudora, Bottle, Bug-Catching Net: Keep going past the Ice Palace region until Link reaches a cave with the picture of a monster engraved above the exit and return to ground level here. Now go through the door and Link will be able to access Kakariko Village. Now, after obtaining these useful items, Link can also navigate with Zelda to find a way to quickly enter the Sanctuary without running into the guards.
Pegasus Boots: After acquiring the Pendant of Courage, Link automatically leaves the palace as always. While in the Eastern Ruins, go to Sahasrahla and speak to him. His speech will be very long but Link eventually obtains the boots.
Blue Mail: To obtain this, Link needs to steal a small key. Fortunately, Link is able to fully access Misery Mire with the use of the glitch and obtain and use all the small keys except for the key used to open the unnecessary room full of blue rupees. Use this key after saving and reloading and it will now appear as a key acquired from Agahnim's castle. Re-activate the glitch and enter the room full of Blade Traps in the Ice Palace to open the door. Now go to the area where Link can reach the upper level and bomb one of the cracked areas so Link can fall through that hole and obtain the Blue Mail. It's advised that Link obtains extra Heart Containers and a Fairy since one of the keys is resting on a bed of spikes. It's uncertain if this can be used to obtain the Red Mail since Ganon's Tower (A Link to the Past) requires the Fire Rod to open certain paths.
Cane of Somaria: After obtaining the Pegasus Boots, go to Misery Mire with the glitch in use and return to ground level. Now make the crystal switch red and go to the room with the chest containing the cane.
Triforce: Since Link is under the ground, he can't fight Ganon, so he can simply go forward while in his room to get the Triforce.

Link Re: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

    1. Link must first enter the Dark World and go to Skeleton Forest.
    2. Drop down the east most hole to enter the large room in the Skull Dungeon with three Gibdos, a Wallmaster, several bumpers, spikes, a key in a chest and a keydoor in the northeast corner.
    3. Link must kill all the enemies and make sure the northern door is unlocked.
    4. He needs to go in between the two bumpers that are almost touching each other near the north side of the room.
    5. Have Link on the southern side of the pot between the bumpers, and as close to the pot as he can be, and face north.
    6. While Link is facing north, press and hold B to charge a spin attack.
    7. Move sideways into one of the bumpers (the results of the glitch change depending on which one Link bumps into, see below for more info).
    8. After Link bounces off that bumper, but before he hits the other bumper, release B to perform the Spin Attack. (Timing has to be perfect - Link should be about halfway, possibly a little farther, from one bumper to the next. It will definitely take several tries to get it right in many cases.)
    9. Exit through the northern door without touching any walls or pots. (Otherwise, the effect of the bumping may be lost.)

The screen should scroll horizontally beyond the walls of the room. The room containing the Fire Rod chest will be visible on both sides of the room Link is in.

    • Depending on which bumper Link hit, and how many times the glitch is performed, Link can achieve one of the three following results. For result 1, have Link hit the right bumper first. For result 2, have Link hit the left bumper first. Finally, for result 3, perform the glitch twice, using the same bumper as Link's starting point each time. Finally, the glitch can be undone simply by performing it again in the opposite direction it was performed previously.

All directions are from the room Link enter after leaving the bumper room. Result 1

If Link goes west through the southern door, he will end up stuck in a wall and will have to use the mirror to get out. If he travels through the northern passage instead, he will enter the "Glitch Zone" (See below). Once in the Glitch Zone, the camera will no longer scroll abnormally, but it will focus on the wrong room (not the room Link is actually in).
As Link moves around, there will be a "dummy" version of Link on the screen, with no shield. That is a graphical glitch and does not reflect Link's true position. (Use the map to confirm his actual location.)
    Result 2

    Same as result 1, except:

    • When Link enters the Glitch Zone, the camera will continue to scroll out of bounds. This lets the the camera synchronize back with Link by moving back and forth. Some doorways will not work exactly the same as before, meaning it is easier for Link to get stuck in a wall (requiring Link to use the mirror to get out).

Although the camera can be synchronize with Link, what will be shown is a "clone" of Link. He moves through the room normally and looks perfectly fine, but he cannot interact with anything very well (pots disappear, enemies go through him, switches don't activate, and many items won't work properly.)
    Result 3

When Link passes through either doorway heading west, he will end up in the room with the Fire Rod chest, which happens normally. However, the camera continues to scroll out of bounds. The game otherwise acts normally until Link go through another door. This is the desired effect for the Under-Underworld glitch.
    The Glitch Zone

These instructions assume result #1 above is used. If result #2 is used, things will vary as doors won't always work the same particularly in the latter stages of the exploration.
    • Room #1: Link is in the Big Key room. Camera focuses on room east of Big Key room. Head east to go to Room #2. Go south for Room #3.
    • Room #2: Link is back in the room he was in right before entering the Glitch Zone. Camera focuses on room with Fire Rod chest. Go south to

return to bumper room ( The glitch can be redone for a different effect if desired at that point). Go west through northern passage to return to Room #2. Go west through southern passage to go to Room #3.

    • Room #3: This is the room where Link moves a statue onto a switch to open a doorway. Link cannot go north because he cannot interact with the

statue or switch. Camera focuses on room just west of Fire Rod treasure chest (which is also just east of where Link actually is). Go south to exit the dungeon altogether. Go west for Room #4.

    • Room #4: Link is now in the room west of the Fire Rod room, with the camera focusing on the room he just left. (If the key door is still locked, Link will sometimes get stuck inside the door, forcing him to use the Magic Mirror.) Go east to return to Room #3, or go south for Room #5.
    • Room #5: Link is in the compass room (very difficult to navigate if Link got the compass). Camera focuses on room west of compass room. Go north to return to Room #4. Go east for Room #6 or west for Room #7.
    • Room #6: Link is in the room west of the compass room, with the camera focused on the compass room itself. Unfortunately, Link is positioned

right over a bottomless pit, so he can't do anything but fall repeatedly.

    • Room #7: This room is the room of the Swamp Palace (level 2) where Link goes through a waterfall to access a hidden doorway. The Camera can be sychronized to Link here (since the room is two screens wide), but nothing else can be done because Link is suspended in midair above the room's floor, making it impossible to go anywhere.

Default Re: Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

    The Under-Underworld

Perform the Scrolling Shenanigans glitch by hitting the right bumper twice. When Link travels north to the next room, use the Hookshot to reach the upper door, then go west.
    1. If Link ends up experiencing effects (C) or (D), head east, then go south in the middle (whether the right room can be seen or not). This should get Link back in the room with the bumpers. Try again until Link achieves effect (B).
    2. Once Link enters the room with the Fire Rod chest, head back east through the same door.
    3. It looks like Link went back into the room opposite the door, but this is the dummy Link. Move back and forth until Link's true location is visible on the west side of the Fire Rod room. Use the Hookshot to cross the gap, then head east through the same door Link just went through.
    4. After the double-scrolling effect finishes, Link will be in a later room of the dungeon (use the Map if what came into view is unfamiliar). Dash each two times to get Link's true position into view quickly. Link is in mid-air! This is quickly fixed, however, by simply climbing the stairs to the "north". Just walk over them and Link will "climb" to the top of the stairs. Then, climb back down them and Link will be on the bottom level, like normal.
    5. Head west, through the door seen there. Link will disappear as he enters, but don't be bothered by it--just go. Another double-scroll will occur, and Link will be under the floor of the room Link first went in after triggering the glitch.
    6. Once Link is under the dungeon floor, move him back and forth until the camera is in sync with him.
    7. Once the camera is in sync, head to the west. When Link hits the hard boundary at the end of the room, the screen will loop around, eventually stopping on the Fire Rod chest room.
    8. Move Link back and forth, taking care not to go too far to the right.
    9. If the camera does not scroll at this point, then go on to step 11. If the camera does scroll as Link moves back and forth, then go back and redo steps 8-9. (Sometimes it only takes one loop around to get the camera to stop on the Fire Rod room, while other times it can take three or four cycles. However, it shouldn't take longer than that - it Link goes half a dozen times around and the camera refuses to stay on the Fire Rod chest room, Link may have to use the Magic Mirror and restart.)
    10. Go to the east. The camera should scroll to the room east of the Fire Rod room.
    11. Notice the circle of pots at the Northern end of this room. Normally, there would be a spark enemy moving around these pots going clockwise.
    12. Keep going east until that spark appears. (Make sure to go the same distance Link went back in steps 8-10.)
    13. Now go east two more times (two more cycles around).
    14. Go west. The screen will now scroll to the Fire Rod chest room.
    15. Go west two more times (two cycles around). As the screen scrolls around the second time, Link should see that spark enemy mentioned above. If Link doesn't, there was a miscalculation.
    16. Go east. The screen will scroll back to where the circle of pots (and the spark) is located.

If these instructions are followed correctly, the camera should now scroll normally throughout the entire Under-Underworld. That is, never again will it scroll beyond the boundaries of a map square. (It will scroll between rooms within a map square, but it should always stop at the map square's boundaries until Link travels to the next sector.)
Here's a list of all the reasons why this is necessary from now on when exploring the Under-Underworld:

    1. No more unpredictable scrolling.
    2. No more sprites disappearing as Link move around (There has been cases where Link disappeared, and had enemies and other objects disappear as well.)
    3. No more going through doorways and not being sent to the right location.
    4. Enemies and other objects can now be interacted with.
    5. Link can now see Wallmasters. This is helpful if they prove a nusiance.
    6. Items now work as they should.
    7. In dark rooms, Link's light "cone" now appears at the correct location.
    8. Link can now explore the Under-Underworld smoothly and naturally, something that prior to now was only possible in emulation!

Note that the exploration still isn't perfect - Link can't enter every room's normal playing area, and it is still possible for him to get stuck in some rooms to where he must warp out with the mirror. Also, graphical glitches still occur as the wrong sprite palette is used (although most oddities are fixed by bringing up the map, going through a door, and/or using the Ether medallion, there are some graphical quirks that remain until Link leaves the underworld altogether). However, this is a much-needed improvement over what we've been stuck with since the glitch was first discovered.
Now, by moving under the floors of different dungeons and other indoor scenes, Link can get just about anywhere (with some limitations) in the underworld! But be very careful of the following:

    • When moving north or south, stay in the middle of the scene currently loaded, otherwise it is possible for any wraparound effect to be visible when moving north or south. Usually there are no problems, but crashes are possible if wraparounds are combined with vertical scrolling.
    • Don't trust the flashlight in dark rooms. When moving west or east, the flashlight does not reveal Link's actual location. (Moving north or south is somewhat better but still not always accurate.)
    • Keep the Magic Mirror handy--it's easy to get stuck when Link goes into a room that has both an upper level and a lower level.

To beat the game early once Link is in the Under-Underworld follow this route:

    • Go west near the top of the screen (to keep from getting stuck) until Link reach the throne room of Hyrule Castle.
    • Go north through the dark room, then stop when Link reaches a lighted room again (it will be a portion of the Tower of Hera).
    • Go west one scene. The west side of this scene MUST be scrolled completely into view before continuing, but do not go beyond this scene. (There will be the section of Hyrule Castle's tower, where Agahnim warped Zelda to the Dark World.) With the screen divided between the rooms horizontally (with the empty rooms on the right side), go north until Link reaches his destination (through and beyond Ganon's hideout).

    Blue Shield

This glitch requires Link to have the second (red) shield.
    1. Find one of the enemies that sticks out its tongue and takes Link's items. This enemy can be found in various places, such as in the forest, in the Dark World.
    2. Set the Ether Medallion as Link's special attack.
    3. Allow the enemy take Link's Improved Shield (this may take a few tries since it takes items at random).
    4. When the tongue is still out and the shield is halfway to the enemy, use Ether to freeze it.
    5. Kill the enemy and to get the shield back.

Link's shield will be blue and remain that color even after moving to a new screen.

Default Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past: Death Mountain Descent

    Death Mountain Descent

    1. First, Link must be on Death Mountain in Hyrule, not the Dark World. This is when Link first gets there, and has not gotten the Moon Pearl or beaten Agahnim the first or second time. While Link is on Death Mountain, notice the bridge. If Link hasn't been to the bridge before, it's all the way to the right from where the old man's cave is (the one where he gives Link life if he talks to him). Go up the ladder, then where all the large boulders stuck to the ground are, go all the way to the right. There will be a broken ladder. Note: it is possible to do this glitch even if Link has the Moon Pearl.
    2. Now, go back up Death Mountain and to the warp portal to the dark world
    3. Once Link is a bunny on Death Mountain, he can either go back down using the ladder, or go directly down when he changes, then there will be a crack in the ledge. Jump down from it, then jump down from the platform Link landed on. It doesn't matter which way Link goes, just go back to where the bridge is.
    4. When Link gets to the area where the bridge is supposed to be, there won't be a bridge there, just 2 "statues".
    5. Go up to the section right under the top statue.
    6. Look to the right side of the screen, then use the Magic Mirror to teleport.
    7. While looking to the right side of the screen, move ONE PIXEL!
    8. Wait until Link stop flashing and is teleported back. If Step 7 is not accomplished correctly, Link will be teleported back. Move back to step 6 again and try over. It's not really that hard, though.
    9. Once Link is teleported back, and if it was performed correctly, Link will be are one pixel closer to the edge. DO NOT MOVE! Instead, teleport back.
    10. Once Link has teleported back, move to the right until Link is stopped by the post on the bridge.
    11. Take out Link's sword then power it up(hold the Sword Button). While holding the Sword Button, SLOWLY move toward the portal until Link is teleported back.
    12. If Link did it correctly, and if Link went to the portal as slow as he can, he will be teleported back, but will stand on the ledge without being teleported back into the Light World. (If Link did not complete Step 10 correctly(which means he went too fast), then Link will be teleported to the Dark World then teleported back to the Light World. Link must start back at Step 6 over again.)
    13. Once Link is on the ledge, DO NOT MOVE LEFT OR IN ANY OTHER DIRECTION! Doing this will cause a failure and Link will have to do Steps 6 - 10 again. When Link is on the ledge, move to the right and Link will fall into the black area with all the lava streams moving around.
    14. Move all the way downwards and then when there is a large section of a ledge on the bottom of the screen, move down the right-side of it and off the screen. If done correctly, Link will be on a large ledge. Jump down and the Death Mountain Descent is complete.

The reason this glitch is desirable if Link jump down off the last ledge in this glitch, Link is now on the grounds of the Dark World. Because of this, Link is able to explore almost the entire Dark World WITHOUT having to beat Agahnim or getting all the Pendants.
Now that this glitch is complete, it's time to make things better. Notice that in the Dark World, all of the graphics are a little "glitchy"? Well, that's because Link is not supposed to go to the Dark World from the black area in Death Mountain. If this is found unnerving, use the Magic Mirror to return to the Light world, then go into the portal to return back. Every thing's normal again. Also, when Link is in the black area, if he does not move toward the correct area, which is the large ledge, he will be stuck in the waterfall or the side of the ledge, and the game will have to be restarted. There are MANY glitches that come from this one.

    Metamorphosis Fairy

    1. Do the Death Mountain Descent glitch, make sure Link has at least one Fairy in a bottle with him and the Zora's Flippers.
    2. After Link has done the Descent proceed to Kakariko Village, head downward through Kakariko Village and to the right, proceeding towards Link's House.
    3. Once Link gets there, move down to the "swamp", and go down to the section of the lake.
    4. When Link is right next to the right-side of the lake, continue getting hit by the enemies until Link is almost dead, then walk into the deep water.
    5. Link should start blinking, continue pressing left (don't hold it down, but tap it to move a step at a time). Do it over and over until the screen scrolls. The bunny (Link), will be "skating" on the water, stay on the water with about one heart left (actually, two hearts will do, just make sure one hit will be Link's last).
    6. While skating on the water get killed by an enemy with just ONE hit, Link will fall down, then the fairy will sprinkle her pixie dust on Link, making him come alive again.

If Link does it incorrectly, the screen will become EXTREMELY glitchy, scrolling over and over, collecting "pieces" of the screen as it scrolls, and control will be all but impossible. If this happens, press the Restart button, because it will never cease on it's own.
If it does work though, instead of Link returning in bunny-form when the Fairy brings him back to life Link's ordinary form will return. Saving the game afterward is advisable. Getting killed or entering then exiting a building/cave will return Link to Bunny form.

    Under/Over-Underworlds

    1. Link must go to a place in the underworld where he can jump from an upper level to a lower level.
    2. Jump, then while Link is in the air, press Select and choose to save and quit. (Note that the glitch may not work at every location. For example, the first room in Hyrule Castle does not permit the glitch, although other rooms in that same dungeon do.)
    3. After saving, return to the file select screen and select ANY game (it doesn't matter which one is picked - it can be the same one or a different one).

If the file picked was saved in the Light World, be sure to start in either Link's House or Sanctuary - NOT the Mountain Cave. Link should start the game in a "hybrid" state.
Although he looks normal, the game internally thinks he is on the lower level, even though he's on the upper level. The result is that as soon as Link gets hit by an enemy, dash into a wall, or do certain other things, Link will magically disappear under the floor and end up in the lower level!

    • Note that for the glitch to work, Link must not travel to the lower level or any underworld scene prior to activation. This is because entering the lower level fixes the bug, as the erroneous "lower level" status is repaired. This is also why Link cannot start at the Mountain Cave, since he begins on the lower level there.

    • Applications of this glitch are enormous:
      • Beat the game immediately after rescuing Zelda! Now it's possible to beat the game with only 3 hearts, and (almost) nothing else!
      • Explore *BOTH* underworld maps! Before, via the Skull Dungeon glitch, Link could only explore one map. Now we can explore both! (See below, however, for some very annoying consequences.)
      • Link can even disappear under the ground in the Overworld! However, doing this doesn't cause anything extraordinarily important, as the game still acts in many ways as though Link were still on the surface. Basically, the result is that Link disappears, but Link still interacts with the playfield (i.e. he bumps into walls, pick up stones, enter caves, fall down holes, etc.). Most items Link uses will appear above the surface; thus, Link can kill an enemy with the beam off of Link's sword (not the sword itself, however) and retrieve the item using the boomerang.
      • If a new game is started after setting up the glitch, Link will disappear beneath the floor of his room as soon as he jumps out of bed. (This is one possible starting place for exploring the new underworld.)

    • Three major problems exist with the new underworld, however:

    1. If Link enter the underworld at one house/cave, activate the glitch, then go to another house/cave, then exit, Link will appear outside at the place he started from - NOT the place he just exited. This is because the game does not distinguish between different exits in the second underworld, as there is no place where Link can enter and exit via different doorways under normal conditions. (Note that the game actually takes advantage of this phenomenon, defining only one fortune teller place, one fairy fountain [not counting those that exist as portions of other caves], etc.)
    2. In many cases, as Link explores the new underworld, the scrolling will screw up, showing signs similar to those related to the Skull Dungeon glitch. Note that these problems will not appear AT ALL in the original underworld this glitch is used. This is because the original underworld was designed to let Link move from one map sector to the next, whereas the new underworld does not have any houses/caves that scroll beyond map square boundaries. (It appears that Link can resolve this problem by starting in a place like Blind's [Light World] hideout, where rooms exist that stretch across multiple screens. However, this does not appear to be a 100% fix; Link may still encounter the problem nevertheless.)
    3. The new underworld is much smaller. Therefore, it is very easy to scroll out of bounds, forcing the game to crash very violently (sometimes showing a weird screen with the word "BUG" written multiple times on it). IF THE GAME CRASHES, SAVED DATA MAY BECOME CORRUPTED!! I've had files copy from one slot to another, I've had files revert to an earlier saved status, and I've had files screw up entirely. This is making it very difficult for me to map out the new underworld. EXPLORE IT MINDFUL OF RISKS - BACKING UP GAMES DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE PREVENTION OF DATA LOSS!! (Apparently this game's file save system is very vulnerable.)

    • Glitch variation:
      • The original form of the glitch used a different technique. In this case, Link used the Magic Mirror to set it up. Go to (for example) Level 4 of the Dark World. Go to a spot where Link can jump down to the lower level, then try to time it so that Link uses the Magic Mirror as he starts his jump. If done right, Link will return to the entrance without hearing the normal warping sound, and Link will be rendered uncontrolled.
      • If Link was facing left or right when he jumped, he will be motionless and the game must be saved and quit. Upon resumption, the master glitch above will be armed, so getting hit will knock Link to the lower level.)

    • If Link were facing north, he will move automatically (in a very peculiar fashion) northward, causing some bizarre scrolling effects. Eventually, the action stops, at which point (if it hasn't already done so) The game mest be saved and quit. (Again, the master glitch will be armed as before.)
    • If Link was facing south, he will move automatically outside the dungeon. Once out, he continues his automatic motion southward, but will stop after a couple of seconds. At this point, Link can be controlled again, and the master glitch will be armed. (This provides a method of activating the glitch without saving in the process.)
    • Note that this glitch DOES work in the GBA adaption.
