How to upgrade from 4.00 M33?

So I bought a PSP 2000 from my friend and he already had it modded but it is version 4.00 M33. I ave seen many CFW's on this site and I don't know which one to exactly get! How would I go about choosing and upgrading my psp to the latest CFW?
