 BACKGROUND

Toshin Daibukai is a tournament for fighters held in the underworld every
few years. Any weapon is allowed other than firearms, making this fight
to the death without a doubt the ultimate tournament for deciding the
strongest fighter in the world. Whether you consider the location of the
tournament or the number of fighters entered, this contest is of a great
scale, but word of the tournament has never been spread around. The orga-
nization that organizes the tournament has decided all of the participants
in advance, sending them - and only them - invitations to the fight.
However, rumour has it that this organization was dissolved after the last
tournament, but the truth is not yet known. Now, the tournament is about
to be held again. Who is behind the scenes? And for what evil purpose? The
fate of the fighters is yet to be seen.

strength is lowered. If the strength reaches zero, the game is over.
 2. Character window : The character's face is displayed here.
 3. Character's name : The name of the character currently fighting is
    displayed here.
 4. Time limit : The time remaining in the match is displayed here. The
match is over when the time runs down to zero, and the character with
the most strength remaining at that point is the winner.
 5. Hit count : The number times a character continuously hits their
    opponent is shown.
 6. Victory mark : A victory mark is displayed when you defeat a opponent.
 7. Rope gauge : If this gauge drops to zero and your character moves, or
is thrown of the ring, your character is "out of the ring", and you lose
    the round.

 in your attack.

(When a character is facing to the right)
When close to your opponent, push the D-pad either left or right and the
B button (you can also use the A button to throw).

 Dash : Forward - Forward
(When a character is facing to the right)
By quickly pushing the D-pad twice in the forward direction, you can

By quickly pushing the D-pad twice in the backward direction, you can
quickly backstep from your opponent. Effective when you want to get out
of your opponent's way or throw off your opponent's attack.

Dodging : Down - Down or AB (same time)

 specified time.

Push the A and B buttons at the same time to unleash a powerful strike
 on your opponent.

buttons, letting up quickly, and each of your character will strike a pose
to inflame and provoke your opponent.

 Easy-command special move : D-pad +AB (same time)
This is done by pushing the D-pad and the A and B buttons simultaneously.
Ordinarily, players move the D-pad and then push both the A and B buttons to
deliver a special move, but in this game you must be pushing the D-pad in
one direction when you hit both A and B buttons simultaneously. An easy-
command special move can be delivered by pressing both the A and B buttons
 in advance
The secret special move can be used when the character's strength gauge
 is flashing.

 SPECIAL FEATURES

 Out-of-ring feature
If any part of a character's body falls out of the ring, that character
loses the match. There are invisible ropes around the ring to prevent you
from falling out. However, the ropes can only support you about three times.
If you fall against the ropes three times in the same match, the ropes will
dissolve, and the next time you will fall out of the ring. When the rope
dissolves, the Rope gauge will begin to flash, indicating that the next
time you will not be saved.

 Cancelling technique
While fighting with normal techniques, one can deliver a special move and
return to normal fighting without leaving oneself open to counter attack.
This technique is called "cancelling", and it requires good timing. This
technique can also be used to apply normal fighting techniques one after
another. If you can master the timing for this technique, your skills will
 become more polished.

 Attacking from behind.
Occasionally, by avoiding or jumping over an opponent, you may find yourself
in a position to attack from behind. The damage caused when attacking from
behind is one and a half times the normal amount. So, a secret special
move from behind must be really painful!

 GAME MODE

Mode select : Select one of three different modes. "VS HUMAN" can only
be selected when using a connecting cable or a Super GAMEBOY.

"1P GAME" (Story mode) : You choose one character out of the eight and
play against the computer. The computer chooses your opponent from the
remaining characters. The winner must take the best out of three fights.

"VS CPU" (Practice mode) : Practice against the computer. You can choose
your character and opponent. Select the character with the D-pad and push
the A button. Then, do the same to choose your opponent.

"VS HUMAN" (Fight mode) : You can play against a friend by connecting two
GAMEBOY's with a connecting cable. See page for details. You play the best
out of three rounds against your opponent. Both player one and player two
choose their character with the D-pad and then press the A button.

 Using a SUPER GAMEBOY
With a SUPER GAMEBOY, two players can play against each other using

GAMEBOY. Check that it is firmly connected to your SNES game machine.
   Then, switch the power on.
 - Enter the Mode Select screen using Controller 1 of the SNES game, and
   then select "VS HUMAN".
 - The game is played using Controller 1 for player 1 and Controller 2 for
   player two.
 - When using SUPER GAMEBOY to play "1P GAME" or "VS CPU", the unused
controller cannot be used. Reset the mode to "VS HUMAN".

 OPTION MODE

the option settings. Push the D-pad up or down to select an item you want to
change. Then push the D-pad left or right to change the setting. When you
are finished making changes, select Exit and push the A button.
