Can I lost all data (game,music,movies) on PSP/

Hey all, Im new here, i have registered here yesterday. Now i will ask question to all master psp here... If u know how to solve this problem please answer this question...

Can i lost all data on PSP ( game, movies, theme, etc) if i upgrade firmware( i have PSP version 3) , and how to add application on PSP?
