Should I Update or Leave?

I've got a PSP-1000 fat sitting around for a while.
Was planning on selling it but I'm not sure if I should update it or not.
It's running on a CFW 5.50 GEN-D3.
Afraid that if I update it, it will end up making it worse because sometimes the latest firmwares are glitchy.

Would you recommend me to update it?
I don't have a Pandora battery.
If so, which firmware would you suggest?
