Why didn't Sega equip their dreamcast kiosks with a vga monitor / vga connection to show off the DC's graphics in high resolution?
I never thought of this until today - do you think it would have made a difference back in the day, blunting the common view of the PS2's graphical superiority over the DC?
Back in the day, I didn't even know that the DC would output at a higher resolution through VGA, I bought a VGA box so I could set up the dreamcast in my bedroom (didn't have my own tv as a teenager), and then thought the graphics looked so clear and good "just because it was on a pc monitor."
In fact, I just dug out the original packaging for my naki VGA box - and nowhere does it mention anything about increased resolution, or clearer graphics or anything. It simply marketed itself as a convenience - advertising the different options for connections (svideo, vga, AV etc) and the switch to switch between the different connections. (ps: original price tag was still on the packaging, apparently I bought it for $14.99 :lol: )
