Element in each category

When you get an element press all four buttons at once, this takes a lot
of practice but it should give you an element in each category.

Re: Quest 64

Beating any boss

Sent in by Dane Broadfoot

An easy way to defeat just about any boss without getting scratched is
easy. All you have to do is pump up your earth spirit to at least level 36
so you have the magic barrier. Then other destructive spells if you like.
Apply the magic barrier every other turn. If you do this nothing can hurt
you, not even Mammon. Then simply attack with anything you have the
turn after you put the barrier on. Another tip don't save at the floating
monastery. If you do you are stuck in that infernal place forever.

Re: Quest 64

Increase your HP, MP, Defense and Agility

Sent in by Purvis

There is a great way to increase your HP, MP, Defense and Agility all
at the same time. First you need to go to Cull Pass. Make your way
through the level until you get to the last semi-large room. (There should
be 2 exits, one that is blocked off early in the game and one that leads
to Normoon). The only creatures you should encounter are Blood Jell's.
When you fight them be sure to do it close range (with club), (this will
boost your HP percent), stand still when they cast homing arrow, the
ones that hit you will boost your defense and the ones that miss you
will boost your agility. After each battle cast heal on yourself, (this
will boost your MP). Sometimes this method is effective and sometimes
it isn't. So keep at it and you will defiantly boost your stats quickly.

Re: Quest 64

Beating the first boss

Sent in by GPC

The first boss you fight is pretty easy. Just fight near the cattle until
you get about 80 HP or so. (no less than 75 HP) You should try to get as
much water and earth element as you can. When you fight the first boss
you should only use your staff. And you'll need all the fresh bread you
can get so when you it don't waste it! Never use any healing items
that you get, you'll need it when you fight the all bosses. The next boss
you fight is a little bit harder. He has 660 HP. You should have about 111
HP. You should use your staff. And you must use your power staff skill!
You need at least 5 healing items. The next boss is really hard, he has
880 HP. You need about 220 HP and about 3, maybe 4 healing iteams.

Re: Quest 64

Beat Mammon easily

Sent in by Allen Eyring

To beat Mammon easily you will need high MP and a lot of MP replenishing
items. You also need to stay as far away from him as possible (but not
out of range of your magic attacks) Now blast him with FIRE 3 and
AVALANCHE until he's dead. He usually uses three spells, a spell like
homeing arrows (hard to dodge) a spell like magma ball (easy to dodge)
and a spell that is like wind bomb (ditto). Just keep using FIRE 3 and
AVALANCHE and dodge his attacks. He will die in a few minutes. He
has about 2,100 HP.

Shamwood

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

After you exit the Baragoon Tunnel and are on the map with Greenoch
and the Boil Hole, there is a huge patch of nothing to the lower right
of the map. It seems as though there is nothing there, but if you go to
the lower right hand corner of the patch of desert, look for a diamond
bobbing up and down in the sky. Head straight for the diamond, and there
will be a platform with a circle on top. When you step on the circle, you
will be transported to a huge castle called Shamwood. There are at least
7 spirits and 9 treasure boxes in this castle--it's like a rest stop for
those who found it. The person that lives in the castle is Lamaar....make
sure to go into EVERY room and explore all the ground surrounding the
castle (with the trees).

Level 2 wind tip

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

When in battle with any opponent that shoots a level 2 wind, just stand
there while being shot at and don't move. I'd say 75% of the time the
wind will not hit you, it will just swirl around you. Keep in mind it
doesn't work a 100% percent of the time, but what do you have to lose.

Re: Quest 64

Gain MP

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

If you're running low on MPs (Magic Points) in a battle, then just smack
your opponent with your staff. Every time you smack the monster, you
will gain another MP.

Re: Quest 64

Invisible spirit element

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

After you have beaten Nepty and have been transported back to Larapool,
make your way back to the ferry that originally brought you there, get
on the ferry and ride it three times. On the third trip, stay in the cabin
and move up to the crates on the right. A "?" will appear over brains
head, signaling an invisible spirit element!

Re: Quest 64

Rock spell trick

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

When an enemy casts a ROCK spell on you, start running directly
towards them. You will take control of your character while the boulder
is still in the air. If you can get close enough to the enemy, fast enough,
the stone will pass harmlessly overhead.

Re: Quest 64

Hit the enemy with your staff and the elements

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

If you close enough to do a close-combat attack with you staff, pick
any magic spell, and then hit "A." You will now hit the enemy with your
staff and the elements. This saves having to waste to turns when
you can use both in one!

Locate and Win the Earth Orb

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

1. When the game starts, talk to the Grand Abbot. After that, exit Melrode
Monastery (there is only one way to go), making sure you talk to all the people
on your way out for important information.

2. Outside the Monastery, follow the road downhill to find the town. Talk
to all the people in town.

3. When you exit the town, press Start to reveal a map of the area. Where the
road forks, head southeast to Connor Forest.

5. Once in the forest, follow the path on the left, past a hut, until
you get to a large clearing. Continue following the path and
you'll come to a gate. Open the gate and continue until you find
the robber, Solvaring. Defeat him to win the Earth Orb.

Re: Quest 64

Locate and Win the Wind Jade

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

1. After defeating Solvaring, return to the entrance of the forest and
follow the path right to another gate and exit.

2. After leaving Connor Forest, go south along the road until you get to the
ship next to the Dondoran Flats Inn. Save your game by spending a night at
the inn, then board the ship.

3. Enter the cabin on the ship. When you exit, your journey to the next area is
complete. Save your game at the West Carmagh Inn, then pull up the map by
pressing the Start button.

4. Follow the road north to a fork. When you come to a fork, take the left-hand
path and follow it to a cliff.

5. Follow the cliff to a fallen tree. Cross the fallen tree and continue heading
south to a bridge. Just past the bridge is a small house where you can save
your progress.

6. Cross the bridge and go downhill to find the entrance of Cull Hazzard Cave.

7. Proceed through Cull Hazzard Cave. There is only one way to go. When you
come into the open, head north, keeping the edge of the cliff on your right.

8. When you come to an opening, stay to the right and keep going. Keep
following the right-hand wall and you'll come to an area with a lake.
Circle the lake, keeping the shore on your left.

9. You'll come to another lake. Keep this one on your left and continue.
You'll come to a narrow tunnel lined with tree roots.

10. Follow the path through the center of the tunnel to reach the next
open area. There's only one way to go from here. Keep going until you
find Normoon.

11. Exit Normoon to the north and you'll find yourself in Windward Forest.

12. Follow the path through the forest to Zelse, the wayward magician.
Defeat him to win the Wind Jade.

Re: Quest 64

Locate and Win the Water Jewel

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

1. After defeating Zelse, continue following the path to exit Windward Forest.
Cross the bridge that was previously closed and follow the broad path across
another bridge.

2. Continue forward, follow the left path around and enter the town of
Larapool. Enter the inn, go upstairs, and talk to Leila to unlock the
bottom door in the hotel.

3. Go downstairs and exit the bottom door, which is closest to the stairs.
Outside, enter the doorway to reach the Crystal Well. Talk to Leila. She will
lower the water in the nearby river.

4. Re-enter the inn and exit the other basement door. Follow the path to the
entrance of Blue Cave.

5. Work your way through the first portion of the cave by following the
arrows on the pillars. When you reach a large open area, follow the path to
the next cave entrance.

6. Proceed through this next cave, following the arrows, until you come to
a large room with many paths. Stay on the right-hand path, always taking
the right fork, and follow it to the exit.

7. Once you're outside, go to Epona's cottage and enter the back room. Step
on the circle to teleport to a ship. Enter the cabin, then exit. When you
come back on deck, you'll be at the Isle of Skye.

8. Follow the pathway to the left of Colleen's house to the top of the
hill. Stand between the pillars in the center of the circular area to be
teleported to the bottom of the sea.

9. Follow the path to Nepty and fight her for the Water Jewel.

Locate and Win the Fire Ruby

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

1. After defeating Nepty, retrace your steps to be teleported back to the
surface. Go downhill to the cabin, enter it and step on the teleporter in
the back room to return to Epona's cottage.

2. Exit Epona's cottage and stand with your back to the door. In front of
you will be six blue crystals set in a circular pattern. Stand in the
center of them to return to Larapool.

3. In Larapool, exit town and head for the ship that brought you here. It will
now take you to the next area, Limelin Wharf.

4. After leaving the ship, follow the road east and then north to Limelin.
Turn and go straight south from Limelin, across the grass, and follow
the canyon to a dirt path.

5. Follow the path. At the sign, follow the left fork to reach Baragoon
Tunnel. Follow the tunnel (there's only one way to go) all the way to reach
a large, open cavern.

6. Descend into the cavern and climb the other side to reach another
tunnel entrance. Follow the path to a large room with pillars. Walk
straight through this room, without turning, to find the exit.

7. At a sign, bear left and follow the path down to Walk straight forward,
defeat Shilf, then continue forward to a small room with two treasure chests.
Take the only exit from this room to enter the desert.

8. After entering the Desert, head southwest to find the town of Greenoch.

9. From Greenoch, follow the road to where it forks. Take the fork
leading south and continue to a large rock.

10. Leave the road and go around the rock to a large crack in the ground.
Walking on the rocks, cross the crack and you'll see the entrance to Boil
Hole right ahead of you.

11. There is only one way to go through Boil Hole. Follow the path until
you come to a larger cavern. Continue following the path downhill to the
next cave entrance.

12. Follow this cave all the way to Fargo and defeat him to win the Fire Ruby.

4. Go down the stairs, then follow the walkway around to the door on
the other side of the castle. Once inside, there is only one way to go.
Keep following the corridors. You will have to fight two minibosses, Guilty
and Beigis.

through the next area and enter the door to reach another dead end.

10. Go out the door you entered and you will find yourself in a new area. Go
north, then east and through the next door.

11. Following the path, cross two bridges to get to the next door. Go down
the stairs and out the door.

your game here.

in the game. Take the eastern exit. Follow the path and enter the door.

14. Walk toward the center of the area to warp to a rock pathway. Follow the
pathway to reach Mammon.

Boss Strategies

Sent in by Tips, Codes, Hints, Cheats, and Secrets Hunter

Solvaring

To defeat Solvaring, move in close and unleash the Water Pillar, or stay away
and toss the Wind Cutter. Solvaring has about 210 Hit Points. When defeated, he
will yield the Earth Orb. You will need the Earth Orb to proceed in the game.

Zelse

Zelse has about 655 Hit Points. There are two basic approaches to fighting him.
If you have many Morning Dews to replenish your Magic Points, attack him
from a distance with rocks.

If you have plenty of Bread, get in close and pummel him with your staff.

You must defeat Zelse and win the Wind Jade before you can proceed in the game.

Nepty

There are two basic approaches to fighting Nepty. If you have many Morning
Dews to replenish your Magic Points, keep your distance and range-attack her
with Fire spells.

If you have plenty of Bread, get in close and pummel her with your staff.

Nepty has about 910 Hit Points.

Shilf

If you have many Morning Dews to replenish your Magic Points, stay away
from Shilf and range-attack her with Avalanche.

If you have plenty of Bread, get in close and pummel her with your staff.

Shilf has about 1,100 Hit Points. Only by defeating her an you proceed into the
desert.

Fargo

If you have many Morning Dews to replenish your Magic Points, keep your
distance and range-attack him with Avalanche. However, if you have plenty of
Bread, move in close and pummel him with your staff.

Fargo has about 1,600 Hit Points. When defeated, he will yield the Fire Ruby,
which will allow you to proceed in the game.

Guilty

If you have many Morning Dews to replenish your Magic Points, keep your
distance from Guilty and attack with long-distance spells. Note, however, that
spells will cause only minor damage.

You'll cause more damage if you move in close and pummel Guilty with your
staff. However, this strategy calls for plenty of Bread or Healing Potions.

Guilty has about 1,900 Hit Points.

Beigis

If you have many Morning Dews to replenish your Magic Points, stay away and
use the long-distance Avalanche attack. However, if you have plenty of Bread
or Healing Potions, move in close and pummel him with your staff.

Beigins has about 1,900 Hit Points.

Mammon

If you have many items to replenish your Magic Points, stay away and
range-attack Mammon with Avalanche.

Another method is to get up close and use Power Staff Lv2 and pummel him, but
you'll take lots of damage.

Mammon has about 2,300 Hit Points.
