..that it was so awesome, that you played it for ages and ages. Then you did play it, and you then realised "FREAK...It's 4 am!!!"

I know i did! ...but more on that later.

DotA, as foresight is needed as well.
Teamwork is vital and can turn the game around easily when each player use the correct skills at the correct time.
Items can also be a huge part of the game, adding much variation to the game!

Btw, I noticed that this thread goes way back..
